Title: Apple Battery Recall

Apple, too?:
Apple recalls 1.8 million laptop batteriesApparently Sony's battery doesn't meet Apple standards.... tsk, tsk, tsk. Shame on them both for not testing comprehensively. You would think that there would be enough testing on the part of both Dell and Apple to prevent this kind of thing.

That's really strange that in such a short time both Apple and Dell had the same problem.
I wonder what the connection is. There must be something they both used that wasnt compatible.
Testing unfortunately doesnt cover the final production. Plenty of things test fine and ship with problems, like tires, games, comics, animation, etc. But things like this just shouldnt happen.

I don't know who the manufacturer of Dell's batteries is... I'll hafta see if I can find out.

makes me worry about the PS3.......
Jack Blaguar - August 28, 2006 01:22 AM (GMT)
I'd be worried if it ran on a Sony battery... lol
As far as the quality of Sony's machines... lol.. well.. we all know about the bugs. I'm hoping they actually aim for quality with the PS3 ...given its price. <_<
I just think they tried to get by with cheap batteries to increase profits.

Tsk Tsk tsk Sony.
I don't think the PS3 and the laptops will be running on the same batteries, so the PS3 is ok. It's a console, so you plug it in to an outlet all the time. But you never know.
