Love movies with John Turturro (Big Lebowski, Mr. Deeds, Anger Management)? Love comedies? Love.. ballet?
This movie was inspired by the Marx Bros. "A Night at the Opera." The premise is the same, except instead of opera singers, you now have ballet dancers. Don't worry, none of the jokes are from the Marx Bros. era (Don't get me wrong, the Marx Bros rock). The jokes are much more updated .. Well, as updated as '92. This film was made by the Zucker brothers (Airplane!, Naked Gun), so you know the jokes are going to be zany and just plain crazy!
The basics: Old woman's husband dies, and his will states that he wishes for a ballet company, and the director will recieve a large sum of money every year. This intrigues the ambulance chaser lawyer (John Turturro) to want to be that director. With the help of his two newfound coworkers and friends (Bob Nelson and Mel Smith), they go off to try to accomplish this dream, while the family lawyer of many years is after the job himself, and will stop at nothing to stop the bumbling idiots.
A fun movie to watch with friends.
