At first, I thought it was just another RPG based on some random historical mythology, but, although it IS based on Norse mythology, it's a GREAT game! I can't believe I spent $60 on it on eBay, but it was very much worth it in my opinion.

Gameplay: 9/10
The gameplay is something that I haven't experienced until I've played this game. Of course, it is an RPG, so it has some similar charactersistics, but its combo battle system (No, not like Legend of Legaia and whatnot) is quite unique and can be fun once you get the right characters (and the hang of it).

Characters: 8/10
I'd have given it a 10/10, but there are so many characters that are similar in some aspects, it doesn't leave much space for individualism. However, even though some have similar skills, the characters all have unique stories which I find very interesting. Although you don't focus on many of the human stories, they can still touch your heart (Well...not really...but maybe if you're super sensitive?) when you experience them. Hmm...well, I might've just went as high as 9/10...the character's voices--practically all of them--were from the US Pokemon cast. o_o

Storyline: 7/10
I was very interested in MANY of the characters' stories, so if their stories continued on, I might have given it a 10/10. The game's main focus, I guess, are the main characters, especially Lenneth Valkyrie (The character you start out with, which is obviously the most siginificant character).

Graphics: 10/10
If you give this game a low graphics grade because it wasn't 3D, then you, sir, are an idiot. :P Different games have different types of graphics...the most popular are 3D and 2D. Although some of the game has 3D effects, it is mostly a 2D environment and 2D character sprites. The graphics are very well done in 2D, as well as the characters actions and several expressions. I particularly liked the beginning of the game when the first two human characters you get were interacting.

Sound and music: 9/10
The sound effects were great, and I think that they matched the abilities of the characters well; not to mention the actions that the characters took during a cutscene. The music was...GODLY! XD Seriously though, a lot of the music matched the mood of the place you were in...It was just awesome...I should go dl them. :ph43r:

Overall Score: 9.5/10
The game was great, save for a few minor details that I didn't like. Other than that, I enjoyed playing it, and will probably play it again in the near future. B)

My fiance made me watch the game when he was playing it. He enjoyed it very much. I didn't really have to watch the leveling up part, just the story.

It's funny that half the voices are the same people who dubbed Slayers and Pokemon.

The game was enjoyable though. Worth the play. But $60?? I hope that wasn't recently, since that game is only a PS game.

Good review ;) Valk profile is seriously my fav game out there. The play is unique, the character design and art rules my all, and the only thing i found uncool about the game is that I got depressed partway through it.. XD so much death, I tell you. But I even have the music for it on CD and that's good to listen to. =] specially to charge emotion.

You forgot to mention that people NEED to play it on hard mode ;) Maybe after beating it the first time, check the strate guide to get the GODLY ending. (3 endings in all)

I would play it if I could find a copy. -_-

Of course it'd cost around that much, VP is one of the more rare games or I'd own a copy by now. >.<

Yeah...it took me awhile to get it...had to save up and then hunt it down on eBay...lucky for me I found a reliable seller...otherwise, I'd have sued his ass for selling damaged goods. :ph43r:
