So my family just bought a new TV, the first one bought by someone other than myself or my brother in over 22 years in fact, and we thusly temporaraly have HBO, Show Time, Skinamax, and the like. On one of these channels, I happened across the BEST movie. Now, an important piece of info I should mention is that I have a movie fetish for crappy 80s horror flicks. Produced in 1984 (the year of my birth), this movie plays off of the success of the REALLY old movie, Night of the Living Dead. Between the bad acting, the poor costume/makeup/special effects (Yes, bad even for the mid 80's), this movie is probably the corniest movie I've seen sence Doppleganger, (another 80's horror flick). Even the music was bad. For some reason, they decided that light rock and pop music would be appropriate for a zombie thriller. By the end of the movie, I was quivering in pure joy, and if you like bad movies as much as I do, I would definatly recomend this movie to you. Return of the Living Dead. I get giddy just thinking about it.
Heh, if you like terrible horror films, you should check out some of the ones my friends watch. Some of them aren't from the 80's, but they're terrible just the same.
A few movies I suggest are: Tomb of the Werewolf, Vampires vs. Zombies (this movie has the WORST line in existance), and Corpses Are Forever (This one actually made me convulse from physical pain).
Oohhh, the names alone make me quiver in anticipation..... The hard part though will be finding them, but they sound like GOLD!
I am a big fan of this movie. Yes, the movie was cheesey, but then again it was supposed to be and was funny as hell. I love horror/comedies, so this was straight up my alley. Plus, you just gotta love Tar man.
"Brains!"
And DarkValpine, if your into bad movies, I recomend Mosquito. The acting is wretched and the special effects are crap, but its a hoot.
Ah yes... I have fond memories of that movie. Not quite on par with Return, but a movie for the ages all the same.
