Anybody else playing this? I'm loving it so far.

Granted I don't dig the dubs so much (often the voice actors don't convey any emotion or worse, have a completely different attitude from the on-screen character), the game is fun all the same.

I don't want to spoil anything but I love the way the story gradually builds. While starting with a vague, basic plot is never any fun, it's worth it when the twists start coming. I love the character interactions and naturally the choices you make affect your relationship with each character.

The combat system, while nothing amazing or innovative, is as fun as any RPG I've played before. It also allows up to four people to play co-operatively in battles.

So to all who have played, who's your favorite character and other obligatory responses :P And to those who have not played...what're you waiting for? :P

Bah, I've Badly wanted Tales of Symphonia And Skies of Arcadia... But alas I don't have the game system... So I'll probably either have to work for the system first or wait til my b-day next december..

^^ Thanks for telling me how cool it is and giving the badly dubbed warning first.

Ack, I wouldn't call it badly dubbed just...not good. XD
If that makes sense. It's definitely not going to detract from the game, or I never felt it did. At some points, the voice acting can even be pretty good but it's a rare occasion. Obviously my sense-making skills are lacking but hopefully you'll understand.

I tried to play this game...well, alright, I watched my friend ply this game. And sometime after her third or fourth time beating it, I decided that I didn't want to play it anymore. The combat was ok, and she never played with the sound on, so I didn't have to listen to the dubbing. I agree that the story and plot development were pretty good, but the thing that got me the most were the dungeons.

I hate cheaply made block puzzles. I hate them with a passion. I can normally deal with a few, but this game has too many. Almost every dungeon (if not all of them) has at least one block puzzle. And on top of that, it's an 80 hour game. That's a lot of dungeons, and a lot of blocks.

But besides the blocks, it's a pretty good game. If I hadn't watched my friend play it five times through, I probably would have played it and enjoyed it too.

Now Skies of Arcadia is a different story. That game is incredably fun. I love the ship-to-ship battles. Oh man do I love them! No block puzzles, that I can remember, and the combat (at the time of the game's creation) was incredably inovative. Now it's pretty average, though.

To put it in perspective, this game was the entire reason that I got a game cube. The entire reason.

I would agree that the strongest negative aspect of this game are the infuriating block/ring puzzles. They often make little sense or are incredily long if not hard to do.
