Title: Good Game Music
KrazyKelli - September 23, 2005 05:38 AM (GMT)
Ya can read the title, can't you? I'm looking for good game music. From games. Found that the better the mood music, the easier it is to type. And I've been dling game music over anime music lately.
I was told FF8 music was good.. but then I got to song 6 and there was this unnessisary warbling voice that sounded like my cat was sick. I don't wanna go through that again. So I'm asking you people for music instead of getting lost on my own.

Here's my Ipod Playlists that I have listed that I listen to cause they're good listening.
Chrono Cross, Final Fantasy 6, FF7, FF8 (though you said you didn't like it for reasons above), FF10, FF11 (on the rare occasion), SaGa Frontier, Secret of Mana, Xenogears, and The Black Mages (:D)
I just recently picked up Chrono Cross and SaGa Frontier so I've been giving them a listen to more than the others recently though.

Jet Grind Radio and Jet Set Radio Future, totally! Also look into the Shadow Hearts and Shadow Hearts: Covenant soundtracks, if you want powerful moving music, that is. I listen to Super Smash Brothers Melee music while I smash horde in the face when I play WoW, too.

I've found that just about any music from an RPG is good music, though I've heard that the Xenosaga II OST isn't that great.
Though if you're in a strange mood, I'd have to recommend the Katamari Damacy or We <3 Katamari OSTs.

It's kinda odd how good Xenogears' soundtrack was so good while they dropped the ball with Xenosaga I&II :-/ It's almost like they didn't try.

I know that one of the reasons the Xenosaga II OST wasn't that good was because they didn't have Mitsuda do the music. Hopefully they'll bring him back for the final game and the quality of music improves.

I myself love the Earthbound OST (you shouldn't be suprised.), because of its sheer zanyness and unfocused type of music. So simple, so wacky....pretty damn good. On that note of overly-strange and pyschotic music, check out the OST of The Neverhood. That OST is just so off that it'll bring you a comedic feeling of insanity. For good old retro relaxing music, some of the stuff from the ORIGINAL Monkey Island (DOS Version) is great. We Love Katamary and Katamary Damacy also have damn good OSTs.
As odd as it also may sound, I think Half-Life and Unreal Tournament's OST's are pretty good.....also the music that went with all the other classics. Castlevania, Zeldas, Final Fantasy, Chrono Trigger.....you know.
Hope that helps.

Hmm... let's see if I can think of some that haven't been named yet.
I liked the Mario RPG soundtrack, several songs bring back happy memories. :x
I've got one song from God of War that I really like, I've heard the rest is pretty good.
Metal Gear Solid 2 Theme. >.> (especially hearing it live... omg, that almost made me cry)
That's all I can think of atm. ._.;

MGS3 also have a really good soundtrack.
Metriod Prime and Fusion
Zelda: Windwaker
Final Fantasy XI OSTs
You can get lots of things at
