While this is already in theaters, I believe it's only in select theaters for the moment, waiting to pick up more popularity.

Synopsis: Helena is a 15 year old girl. Her parents own and run a circus (No, they're not corrupt), and Helena travels with them, and performs in a couple acts. Still, she's unhappy. Why? She wants a real life, a regular life, one far from the circus. During a regular night, her mother suddenly falls ill, and ends up in the hospital. The night of her mother's surgery, Helena falls asleep, but wakes up in a truly bizarre world. One where everyone wears masks, and there are giants, and sphinxes. She comes across the white queen who eternally sleeping until the artifact is returned. Helena takes it upon herself to discover what the artifact is, and find it, as it might also be her key to returning home.

The only thing really hindering this movie, is that if feels like the plot's been borrowed from other films. In a sense, combine "Wizard of Oz" with "Neverending Story" and you have the movie in a nutshell. What sets this apart is that the visual effects are astounding, and to say in the very least, bizarre. The acting adds to this fact. And of course, who doesn't enjoy some dark humor? But pay close attention... they make a couple references to "Labyrinth" and "Never Ending Story," but they're easily overlooked...

Wasn't that based on something Neil Gaiman wrote? I haven't following the movie too much, but I heard that Neil was somehow involved with the flick. Sadly, since we never get any of the smaller movies where I live, I am unable to see it. From the pics that I've seen, it does look interesting.

A friend of mine picked this up on DVD and I finaly got to see it. I thought it was amazing, the best part was when she was being dressed up by the mannequins.
