We're the only anime and gaming convention this side of the atlantic time zone! We have lots of contests, vendors, games, the list goes on!!

I'm in charge of the fanfiction contest this year, so here's the info for that (just copy and paste):

**Criteria**

Hey all! This is the way things are going to go this year. Fanfics can arrive electronically to me at ddoneil@mta.ca and will go to a special folder that I made just for you guys! Each name and email address will be removed from the Fanfic when sent to the judges, so there will be no biases.

Each fic will be judged on a scale from 1 to 10, with ten being the best, for the following categories (with what they’re worth on brackets):
(25%) ~Originality/ Style: Is it a new/original concept? Is it an old concept written well enough to be interesting again?
(25%) ~Smoothness/ Clarity: Does the story make sense? Does it flow?
(25%) ~Grammar/Spelling: Do they follow the rules of English? Or do they type like I do on msn?
(15%) ~Satisfaction/Good Effect: Did it achieve the feelings that were intended? Did it leave you wishing they had taken advantage of a certain section?
(10%) ~Overall Effort: Did you like it?


Results will be sent to the Animaritime site with the title and author number.

All entries must be submitted by 9am January 15th 2006 Atlantic Standard time (GMT- 4h). No late entries will be accepted.

Fics cannot be published online before September 2005.

Ratings go from G to R. No NC-17s please!

At the beginning of each Fanfic please post the following information:
~Author
~E-mail
~title
~series
~all applicable genres (choose any that apply: action, drama, romance, angst, tragedy, crossover, comedy, etc…)
~Rating (G-R)
~disclaimer (very important)
~any necessary warnings

Please include a brief summary of any information that the fic assumes the reader knows. The judges have seen a lot of anime, but they haven’t seen them all. Certain things can be much more poignant, dramatic, funny, simply because of the characters involved! ^_^

Fanfictions can be submitted to ddoneil@mta.ca either as a text attachment or in html format, either as a link or an attachment. Please only put “fanfiction contest submission” in the subject line.

You don’t have to attend the convention to submit a fanfic, but we would love it if you would!! ^_^

Fics will be judged on:

~Smoothness/ Clarity
~Grammar/ Spelling
~Satisfaction/ Good Effect
~Overall Effort

The number of categories will depend on the number of entries. Genres supplied in the heading of the fic will determine the categories the fic is eligible for if division is necessary.

Winners will be announced at the convention and online.
