Title: Kung Fu Bouff!

And my latest in my linking spree includes a band I learned about around half a year ago by the name of Machinae Supremacy.

FYI, that's pronounced "Machine", as the band is Swedish, and ae can come out like the long a in bat, or more commonly just simply "Machine" as I said before.

The band comes from a long line of demosceners, all the way back from the Commodore 64 days. In fact, they use a synth device called a "SIDstation' which makes use of the famous SID chip, combined with metal guitarwork and lyrics ranging from political (in a few songs cases, for instance Legion of Stoopid or anthema apocalyptica), to game related (the great gianna sisters or arcade, the compilations "SID evolution" 1 and 3), to assorted and original, such as the simply named 'attack music' which has been likened in a few cases to the machne history thing in the Animatrix, winterstorm which seems to describe a post-nuclear tribe of hunter/wanderers.

They're an interesting band with a lot of interesting songs. I haven't found a song I didn't like on their site. Availible is about 30 promo songs and the entire soundtrack to a PC shmup called "Jets'N'Guns" all the information about these things can be found around their site. Be sure to not miss the marve-style bio drawing of the band, complete with a bio that outlines their 'special move' ranging from "Vibration-Nation" for the SIDstation player to "Crouching one-leg stand" for the "Lightning" guitarist.

While their sound is odd to some (the SID sounds very oldschool), they're a very worthwhile band to check out. particularly, I would suggest to start with 'winterstorm' and 'follower'. followed by the song "the wired" which is definitely inspired by "Serial Experiments Lain" Please note, some songs do have controversial content and a number have mature lyrics.
