Title: Ice Age 2

Like the crazy figure of omni-potence I am, I went to a movie theatre randomly and paid money to watch a sequal of a good kid's movie. Mind you, it was a sequal.

First lemmi tell you that most computer animated movie sequals I've seen in the last decade have been good. I mean, look at Shrek 2! It was Hilarious! I like watching it. I'll probably watch it again tonight to make sure about this. And all of their single movies have been great as well. Cept for Monsters Inc, never got into it.

Anyway, I went to see IceAge2. It was absolutely slathered in slapstick humor, and they make a bigger point of showing that Scrat was still around to do funny things. I laughed, I laughed til I cried. And yet I was still mildly disappointed. Weird how that works out, eh? It turns out that, while it was loads funnier than the first movie, there wasn't much plot. There was no 'This movie held me in and made me feel for the charactesr' moment. All they did was throw in 3 new characters, all of which were annoying, and tried to hook up the mammoth with a new wife. Which was wrong in so many directions. I mean, his character was great BECAUSE he lost his family. Aside from that, the only thing that held the movie together was the pretty used plot of, "We need to get from point A to point B" with an added "Or we'll die" to make the mission absolutely nessisary. Which, to me, also hurt the classic nature of IceAge1. A movie is better when the characters simply choose to go on a mission together, not that they're forced to. Specially when it concerns throwing in 3 very irritating, new characters.

If you want to watch the movie, go ahead. While it lacked quite a bit in plot, warmth, and love that good movies generally should have, it still had nice texture graphics and good eye candy that you probably wont see on a television screen. Other than that, if you really want the humor, steal it from a rental store.
