Title: Karas

I ran into Karas as an exclusive offer at a Best Buy around here, and had no idea what to think of it. I watched it with the family, and was pleasantly surprised.

A quick summary of the plot is in order, I'd say.

The story takes place in a world where the spirits of Japanese legend exist alongside the human world, and two cities lie on top of each other. One is the human city, a sprawling urban mass; the other is the spirit city of Echo. They have existed without incident for centuries.

Now, that's changing. People have been dying, all their bodily fluids removed in an instant. There's always at least one survivor of these incidents, and they always claim that demons were responsible for the deaths around them.

At the same time, a Karas, a kind of spirit executioner, is sent to slay beasts halfway between spirit and machine. The Karas appears as an armored knight, and can change into a jet-form when required; its powers are seemingly limitless. Still, under all that armor, the Karas is only human...

This is a war. If things go the wrong way, both sides lose. The hopes of both cities lie in a single, comatose human.

It's an interesting hook, putting out 80 minutes worth of video in a few stores across the country. Perhaps you'll find it inttriguing, and pick up the rest of the series when it comes out; perhaps, like me, you'll wait and see how you feel later. Still, it's left me curious.

1... 2... 3... 4... 5... 6... 7... 8... 9...
and it is 10.
Sway, to and fro, sway!
