This is my random Spur of the Moment anime plug that I compiled for the fun of it. See which of these you've heard of, what you think of them if you haven't, and hey... I've heard of the two Saiyuki ones. Haven't watched the anime, but I've read some of the manga. It's not too bad. Everything else I haven't really heard of before or know jack shit about.

Started on ep 4.

Three words. Big Robot Anime.

But don't let that fool you. The anime is mostly about magic, sorcery, and demons. The robots are, I think, made from magic and are powered by magic. They look pretty cool, but I have this feeling that the anime isn't completely encircled around them. DemonBane is, I believe, taken place in pre-presentday Europe. There are cars, there are buildings, but it seems a bit dated and I can't place it. What I think really adds to the anime is the history lesson after the ending credits. The characters in the anime, at least the badguys, are all name-originated around Roman/European history.

Demonbane is the name of a robot.

Random Characters I saw in this ep:

Ruri - a young, whiney princess who owns Demonbane
Kurou (sp?) - The hero, a random guy who becomes a blondhaired hero character with a bad case of pinkeye.
Ruri's butler - Um... Ruri's butler.
Kurou's partner - a girl that becomes a magic, floating puppet.
Crackteam - there's a few other charries I know nothing about, but they were a crack team of computer geek fixerupers who all have different personalities. I'm pretty sure they're other main charries who didn't premere in the ep.

Mr. Bushido - a sword handling dude with red hair. He's an evil lackie
Evil Demon guy - Premere evil guy of the ep. Kinda like a robotic/magic masked lizard guy with tentical power.
Guy in charge - There's an evil guy in charge, but he really isn't mentioned all that much. I know that he's probably the evil guy in charge cause everyone who mentions his name says it with uber hate and, um, his eyes are red.


Anime in a nutshell - Action with slight kinky humor.
Genre - Big robots and magic.
Animation - moderate
Music - moderate
KK TV Rating - Young teen anime. There's kiddy violence, but lots of blood and slight suggestive content.
Additions - Historical references.



"You Bastard! Tentical play is outdated!"

Remember how I wrote Itoshi Kimie on my list? Well, only seen ep 1 so far and I think it's about ready for a review in a hat.

Started on ep 1.

Turns out that it's not an anime at all. It's a japanese tv drama. That is, IRL tv drama in Japan. However don't immediately go, "Eh, drama. Not my piece of cake. All American Dramas are spedup crap and pity." Itoshi Kimie is practically a movie all it's own. I thought it was going to be a short 30 minutes of decent viewing, but it's more like an hour and 30 minutes. Every time I thought it was going to end and tell me to watch ep 2, it continued on with something new that seemed to carry the story on more and more.

No monsters, no magic spells, this is drama tv we're talking about. The story is about how three friends mourn the death of their friend, Toshiya, who unknowingly had a desease that he really told noone about until it was too late. His death spurs this entire episode. How his friends, parents, and brother had to cope after his untimely death. His bro is another story all in it's own. Everyone, mostly Toshiya's parents, said, "Why did the good son have to die? Now we're stuck with the bad, lazy one?" How Toshiya's brother was into taking nude photos of women for magazines and was a waste of time. What would happen when Toshiya's brother tries to seduce one of the three friends in the group too quickly after the death of his bro? Doesn't he care about his bro's death at all? Why does he seem more interested in women and his camera than what his family is going through? This is also what the episode deals with.

However that only scratches the surface of the story. There are many twists and turns that make the episode worth watching. So if you ever want to get into Japanese drama tv and have 80 to 90 minutes of free time, check it out. =] Be prepared for some serious reflection, though. It really makes you think hard about living your life to the fullest.

I am a massive fan of the Kanon series that came out around 2001. Despite being based on a H-Game, the series has next to nothing that is even suggestive in it. Instead, it is funny, sweet, and touching. I am quite excited about the new Kanon.
