The largest heterotopia to ever exist for humanity, ever. No real definition can do justice to the infinite sea of information that is Cyberspace. The age of the Cyberbrain has allowed humans to connect into the internet in ways that was never imagined. Some choose to spend their entire lives drifting and sifting the endless sea of electrons, searching for information that they've yet to discover.

The majority of people enter Cyberspace using their Cyberbrains. This has allowed people to create avatars of themselves and communicate with others in a semi-virtual reality sort of setting. Chatrooms have literally become rooms where avatars can chat, often having seats and tables for avatars to sit around at. There are various newsgroups and forums and E-communities set up all around Cyberspace, ranging from the most perverted of sexual acts, to the most enlightening of speculation.

No matter what your interest is, you're bound to find it while drifting around this vast sea. The small minority who do not posess Cyberbrains can still connect to this vast sea via a regular computer terminal. The experience is significantly different, as a person entering the Cyberspace this way can only view information on a dull LCD screen.

Its hard to imagine anyone would want to spend all their time browsing the net in such a fashion.

To explain the avatar system, just think of it like The Matrix meets Gaia Online. You have an Avatar and you can customize it anyway you want and even interact with others to a degree, though there is no physical reception to it. ))
