Name: Krent Durkandal
Age: 142
Height: 6' 2"
Martial Status: Divorced.
Build: More on the muscular side, but he is usually worn and tired. Signs of a tough life are evident in his composure.
Hair: Dark Brown, short and some-what combed on a monthly basis.
Eye Color: Dark Green.
Typical Appearence: Krent is a man who walks slow and keeps his head down. He's got a knack for the old style of when cops and detectives used to give a damn about justice, thus he keeps his own little brown stetson-style hat with him. The hat is usually tipped down low to hide Krent's dark emerald eyes. Eyes that have seen way too much than they ever wanted to. He's usually doned in nice brown jacket, a white undershirt, a red tie, and gray khaki dress-pants. Theres usually a mechanical cigarrete lit in Krent's hand whenever one see's him.
Biomods: Police issued optical mods that allows Krent to scan an individual for concealed weapons. Krent's lungs are also enhanced by nano-machines to ensure that he's able to perform physically well despite his chain-smoking habbits. He also has all the standard police issued muscle enhancements that give him a slight edge in strength and speed, although this advantage is only relevant whenever he encounters a Naturalist. Krent is currently in the works on scraping together the money to get a biomod for his heart, due to his current heart-failure problems that have been arising from his new drug habbit.
Cyberbrain: Police-modified Cyberbrain with light legal-hacking abilities, and equipment that allows Krent to physically connect with another Cyberbrain in order to view stored memories. Krent's cyberbrain is also equipped to be able to access the FPEA network, a network only capable of being accessed by law-enforcement agents.
Cybernetics: Krent's left hand is completely cybernetic, after being blown off by a pistol at point blank range in a bad situation. Other than that, Krent has no other cybernetics to him.
Equipment: Being an old-time veteran of the FPE, Krent prefers to use the MX-72 revolver-style pistol in his line of work. The pistol is standard police-issued, and is completely unmodified. Krent also carries around a FPE-issued stun-club, which he has found useful in many melee situations over his long time spent in the force. The FPE has certified that Krent is able to use a BENELLI-42 shotgun and a MP587 Light-machine gun in situations where use of extreme force is necessary. Krent does not carry these items with him, but does have both guns stored in the trunk of his hover-car, ready to use in case Krent enters into a highly hostile area. The only other notable equipment the old detective has is a pair of highly-magnetic handcuffs, an MP-34x EMP-based hand-gun used to disable Cybernetics, and a mechanical cigarette with a large amount of menthol-flavored nicotine packs.
Faction Affiliations: Krent is currently a member of the Freedom Protection Enforcement Agency, as a detective in branch 74 of Delphoria. Being in the district he is, Krent is also on the illegal payroll of the Aon Syndicate, taking a weekly pay from a clan headed by Syndicate Clan Lord Treiz Kundren. Krent has been on the Kundren Clan's payroll for quite some time now, and his affiliation with the Syndicate Clan has caused his recent addiction to Nu-Coke.
Background: Alot can happen to a man in 142 years. There was nothing too interesting about Krent's story when he first started living. He was just another typical boy in a typical city living a typical life. Both of Krent's parents divorced at an early age, but it was something that he found easy to cope with since the two lived in the same districts. Growing up, Krent always found things odd. He had never experienced the hardships of growing up in poverty. Compared to most people in the world, Krent lived a mildly comfortable life as part of the middle-class.
It wouldn't be until Krent layed his young eyes across the dead school girl around his age, that his life began to take drastic changes. He had simply been walking back home from a long day of school as a teenager, and accidentally took a wrong turn. There Krent found a girl who had been raped, killed, and stripped away of every conceivable value one could ever think of. It was a shocking event that affected the boy in many profound ways. Eventually, it led him into enrolling into the Freedom Protection Enforcement Agency as early as he could. Around his mid-20s.
The next few decades seem like a blurr to the now worn-out detective. Climbing through the ranks of the FPEA, Krent started out as vowing to be the one good honest cop in all the city. A cop's salary was complete shit, but Krent managed to scrape through it. Nearly every member of the FPEA was on the payroll of a clan from the Aon Syndicate, and Krent ensured that he wasn't going to be one of them. He spent many years of his life scraping through as a typical street cop, eventually being promoted to an elite FPEA Emergency Response Raiding officer.
Due to many events though Krent dropped out of the Emergency Reponse corps and became a regular police officer with a higher rank. Eventually, that line of work became too much for the man to handle and he applied himself to become a detective. The occupation of detective has become nearly perfect for Krent in this stage of life. The many years of experience he has had in dealing with the crime scene of Delphoria allows Krent to piece together evidence well, enhanced by the man's keen perception and talent for investigation.
When Krent was around 94 years of age, he had become married to a woman who he had been seeing for well over 7 years on a light basis. The marriage did not last long though, and Krent filed for divorce while his wife was around 4 months pregnant with his child. Because of that, Krent pays annual child support to help raise his daughter, which has added more financial pressure to the detective's already limited salary. The detective chooses not to interact with his daughter due to his belief that he has failed her as a father, and because of her recent interest in attending college on the west-coast, Krent has swallowed his pride and signed up to be on the payroll of the Kundren clan.
It is believed by the FPEA that Krent Durkandal is a man with pyschological problems. He has been diagnosed with manic depression, and in the past has been known to have extremely violent outbursts in hostile situations. He has had 7 partners over his career as a law-enforcement agent, 4 of whom were killed in action, and 3 who became wounded enough that they had to get serious cybernetics in order to keep functioning. Krent occasionally undergoes pyschological evaluation, but the FPEA has recognized his outstanding contribution towards fighting crime in Delphoria, and thus keeps him on the force.
His recent alliance with the Kundren Syndicate has sparked both an odd friendship with its Clan Lord, Treiz Kundren, and a hazardous drug-addiction. The relationship between Treiz and Krent is usually mutual, but the two have recognized each other to be good friends due to their odd similiarities in the hardships they've had to deal with in life. With this contact has sprouted Krent's current addiction to Nu-Coke though, and the detective is currently in line towards getting a heart-sustainment Biomod due to the effects that Nu-Coke has had on his body.
Overall, Krent feels like a rare breed on the brink of dying off. Often nihilistic and stoic at times, the only motivation Krent Durkandal really sees in life is devoting his Credz to making sure his daughter is able to get a good college education. Other than that, Krent has no other attatchments to this world and he will step forward into the most dangerous of situations without any sort of care or fear. Deep down in the man's sub-conscious still lies a desire to see true justice be carried out in the world, but reality has shown him that all justice has nearly died out. Taken over by corruption on every level.
