Title: GameCube

KrazyKelli - January 27, 2007 04:04 AM (GMT)
I can play Game Cube games on the wii. Instead of getting an internet connection thing for it or more 50 dollar games, I got myself a gamecube controller, memory card, and Starfox.... Cause Starfox rules.

So what classic and awesome GameCube games are out there? I'm mainly cool with rpgs and platformers.

I was under the assumption that you could save game cube files on the Wii's on board 512 flash memory. Why did you buy a memory card?

My list of game to get would be:

Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes (Great)
The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker (Great)
Resident Evil 0, 1, 2, 3, 4 and Code Veronica (All Great)
Phantasy Star Online: Episodes 1 and 2 (Good)
Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles (Good)
Luigi's Mansion (Good)
True Crime: Streets of LA (Decent)
Prince of Persia: Warrior Within (Great)
Prince of Persia: Sands of Time (Great)
Prince of Persia: The Two Thrones (Great)
Hitman 2: Silent Assassin (Great)
Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem (Good)

Yeah, I was under that impression as well, but I couldn't save starfox without the card, so I went back and got one. I thought it was fishy that the wii would have slots for 2 gamecube memory cards built into it yet have no need for saving onto them... Turns out you need to have one to save.

What about skies of arcadia and tales of symphonia?

Yesterday I went out and got Paper mario... Cause it was cheap........ And I could.

I haven't played Skies of Arcadia or Tales of Symphonia, so i couldn't really say. /shrug.

How is Paper Mario? Thats another I haven't played before.

EDIT: Looks at game screen shots alone I would defiantly try Tales of Symphonia. But I heard for some fans of the series that Skies of Arcadia was OK but not as good as other games.

Only saw the first couple hours of Symphonia... and most of that was leveling, because if you don't, you could die within your first half hour of play.

My husband's a big fan of Smash Bros. It's a fun beat em up, with classic and memorable characters to fight with. I promised him we'd get the Smash Bros game for the Wii as soon as it comes out (and we get a Wii..)

Paper Mario was classic. I don't trust the sequels to be any good so I haven't tried them. But Mario RPG is still the best.

Smash Bro's Melee is well worth it but you might just wait and buy the Wii edition.

I wouldn't say Crystal Chronicles is worth it. Anyone that's an FF baby would probably like it but if you play it with two players one player get stuck carrying the chalice around (or whatever it's called) and don't get to do anything. And the game really has no rpg elements or any development. You just do the same lame stuff throughout the whole game. Then every once and a while there'll be an interesting cut scene that'll trick you into thinking the game is interesting.

Thanks for the FF warning, Todd. I was hovering on getting it cause it was cheap, but I wont now if it's lame.

A week or two ago I went out and got 'Metal Arms - Glitch in the System' and 'Metroid Prime'. But for some reason MetalArms made me vomitingly motionsick and Metroid didn't. Odd eh? I ended up returning MetalArms on June 24 and swapping it for Tales of Symphonia - which I wont touch til I beat FF12 on the PS2... Though all I'm doing now in FF12 is leveling, which is lame.

Metroid Prime is only 6 dollars and is DEFINATELY worth the money if none of you have gotten it yet.

Btw, PaperMario is okay, but everyone is telling me that Super Paper Mario for the Wii is absolutely incredible and a Wii must-have.

I'm beginning to like gamecube games. They're various and cheap =D

Two.5 games I wanna bring up to get some opinions on.

Pikmin (1 and 2). I was told to get them. They supposedly rule. Strategic and all that.

FireEmblem... Should I? Guy at Gamestop told me it RULED! But there's a fire emblem coming out for the Wii this fall so.. should I wait and get the wii one?

There was a third game that i can't remember the title of about a mini robot running around doing chores for the home owners. Anyone heard of it or played it? Don't know if I should.

I've been tyring to get the Gamecube Fire Emblem but I can't find it anywhere. :(

I played Pikmin 1 it was fun for a little while. I think I stoped playing it because I set it down for a little too long. Bad habit of mine.
