Halloween is nearly here. Time for Halloween anime marathons! So, I figured I'd list the animes I can think of that fit this spooky time of year... I'm sure I'm gonna miss some, so just chime in with what I forgot (or have never seen/heard of).

Hellsing - Vampires and zombies, and some nice gore (LOTS of gore if you watch the OVA), what else do you need?

Haunted Junction - It's a school with 7 spirits. Also a comedy!

Petshop of Horrors - 4 stories of people buying "special" pets. The manga is longer, but gets away from the horror theme after book 5.

Ghost Hunt - A group of 6 people go and solve reports of ghosts. Also a comedy! Anime gets more creepy with each episode.

Requiem from the Darkness - A writer who wants to write ghost stories follows 3 strange people as they deal with ghosts. Ep 3 has the most disturbing opening I've ever seen.

Boogiepop Phantom - Kids (mostly teens or preteens) are doing weird stuff, Boogiepop is hunting said kids.. And there's a monster hunting everyone. The order of episodes seems jumbled, but they're all just intertwined, and you don't get the full story until the end when it all comes together.

Vampire Princess Miyu - Yep, she's a vampire. She's out to kill evil "Shinma" (think demons). The series is better than the OVAs.

Vampire Hunter D/Bloodlust - D is a good half vampire who mainly just wants to kill all other vampires. Preferences may vary.

Master of Mosquiton - Not really a horror anime. Does have a vampire, but he's more or less a sissy. It's more comedy. It had a vampire, so I had to put it.

Karin (Manga title: Chibi Vampire) - Also more of a comedy. A family of vampires. The middle child has a problem though, she's more of a reverse vampire. She doesn't suck blood, she gives blood. She also is a fan of garlic, loves the sun, and likes water. Has a very annoying vampire hunter wannabe who's in love with her, and calls out her name every 5 seconds.

Monster - A good doctor is blamed for the deaths of his higher ups, and runs away from police, because they won't believe that a little boy did it. Little boy grows up to be a genius... at murder. The doctor embarks to take the boy down, while still being chased by the cops who think he's committing all the murders. I don't think this series has ended yet.. Also a manga series, which also hasn't ended yet...

Spirited Away - Little girl and her parents accidentally visit a ghost retreat. Bye-Bye parents, and the girl works at the bath house for spirits. It's Miyazaki, so you know it's mildly kiddish, but good.

...That's all I can think of off the top of my head. I know I'm missing Kelli's favorite vampire anime (Black Blood Brothers?), but I'll let her bring that one up..

BlackBloodBrothers is another vampire anime. It's more action/drama than horror, though. =D still has vampires.

Phantom Quest Corps - drunken sexy woman in a red dress does business in the unnatural. This anime is very short - only a few eps - but it has a comedic horror feel.

NightWalker - another vampire anime, also actiony. A detective story with vampires.

L.I.L.Y. Cat - oldschool anime movie about a bunch of people stuck in the middle of space trying to fend off an evil monster thing.

Demon City Shinjuku - another old anime movie about a guy who has to go into the middle of Shinjuku to face a demon lord. Full of freaky monsters.

Vampire War - bad oldschool movie about vampires.

Kimera - high tech vampire movie. Rape involved somewhere in there, cheezy generic music.

BioHunter - awesome anime movie about a virus that turns people into ugly but unique monsters. I liked it dubbed and subbed.

Lain - COME ON! It's LAIN! The entire anime is messed up and creepy.

Ya know, after watching a few actual horror films, I found that LILY Cat is near identical to the Alien movie. Same premise with a very minor change in how it was delivered (ie, no aliens bursting from chests.)

I wonder what made them go and recreate a lookalike movie like that. For shame.


Ya know. KillBill is a damned good gore movie and it has anime in it =D
