My buddy Sharlo told me to rent Kibakichi because it was not only a japanese drama movie, but also had a werewolf samurai.
The movie honestly bored the crap out of me, but it was still fun to watch in parts. The plot is basically that a town a yukai (demons) lead by a guy named Oni are trying to stay away from humans - while trying to look like humans to the populace outside. Oni, who owns a casino, makes a deal with some Yakuza boss and they're left alone. This is all under the basis that they can trust the humans. Conflict. Kibakichi, the werewolf samurai, comes from a town already ******ed over by the humans and tries to warn everyone, but is barely listened to. And that's all I'm really going to say without ruining absolutely everything.
There's alot of dialogue and it was very hard to follow who is who in some parts. There's a scene where the Yukai all go into the demon form and party, which brings up some of the most interest costumes I've honestly ever seen in a japanese movie. The costumes were so well-done that most of the bonus material is about how they acted in them.
If you ever watch this, watch it with the realization that it's a b-rated japanese drama movie about a werewolf samurai. If you expect this to be good or BWMAHG I MUST OWN THIS! you'll be sorely disappointed.
