The Open-Window Cafe' is a popular non-chain restaurant in Delphoria who patrons to customers who enjoy a good view. Serves light snacks and drinks for the everyday consumer. The Open-Window Cafe' sits on the top of a building overlooking the fancy buildings of high class sector.

Xycon Zureal looks away from the intricacies of one of the buildings in the distance for a moment as a waitress finally brings him his drink. He picks up the drink and takes a sip and his attention stutters for a moment as the first zing of temporary biomods get to work reenergizing him making up for not eating that morning.

The large door of the cafe would have swung open with a crash if it wasn't for the fact that the thing was a hologram, shield variety. So instead a button was pressed very voraciously. With a soft vmm sound, the doorway hologram shivered then disappeared, letting a person in full suited blue armor step in on boot sole to metal clacks. The character looked around through a helmet (much like a biker's helmet) before unsealing it and removing the sucker.
Holding helmet in hand, it became clear that this person was not a robot, but a woman. Her hair was short, blond hair that was streaked brown. She gave out a sigh, "They told me this place was the best in the city. There's no one here. Even ro-mice wouldn't visit this joint... Waste of a token getting in the building... Oh well, I took the elevator all the way up here might as well enjoy myself..."
She stepped her way over to a table near a window, dragged out the chair noisily, and sat in it. Expecting service that was counter-only.

In the comfort of mid-morning cafe lounging, someone barging in and making a racket wasn't something Xycon wanted at that particular point in time. Especially one particularly freakish looking whose glare on the window was blemishing his view. Xyc's first impulse was to ignore her but it would have done no good since he'd still have to be staring at her image in the window. So for nothing better to do he figured he minaswell start conversation. He turned to the side slightly to address her. "Well, looks like you're all dressed up for something fancy."

Zarkov looked the other guy over for a long, cold, staring moment. She took her hand off her chin and placed it on the edge of the table. Her legs were not crossed, which looked haphazard and uncomfortable with the smooth, clanky leg armor on. "I'm done testing out some new large robot in a franchise. If you think seat-sores on a cycle are bad, try riding in one of those things."
She glanced down at her armor, "It's far easier to walk around in this thing than take it off, if that's what you're asking. ... Who are you, anyway?"

"The name is Xycon Zureal." That's just great, Xyc thought to himself. As if this day couldn't get any worse, I had to meet someone who works with giant robots. Xycon tried to look away to find something interesting to look at outside. "I have nothing to do with giant robots, thats for sure. What's your name?"
KrazyKelli - November 9, 2007 08:45 PM (GMT)
"Zarkov." She answered directly. The name sounded Russian... Fact, the name was russian. It probably explained why she had a very faint russian accent to her tone.
She watched Zycon through one of her eyes, out the window where he could be look with another, and the third towards the counter where an employee sat bored. That's right, 3 eyes. But it's not like they could be seen easily from behind the visor, inside the building, at the distance Zyc was from her. So let's not go into confusion over this.
She fell into silence for a moment, then smacked the table, turning all three eyes fully onto the cashier. A few random images blinked on the visor as if she was reading something internally on that guy, then she muttered out, "What's taking so long for that guy to get over here and take my order."

Xycon groaned as things turned out the way he hoped they wouldn't. Cybernetics and robots mean destruction for the future but here he had no way to go about stopping it. He just sat across from a cyborg who works with robots. He continued to look out the window trying to ignore her rudeness. "So you work with robots? What function are they designed for?"
KrazyKelli - November 9, 2007 09:31 PM (GMT)
"How should I know what they're used for. I only test them. They're either to carry stuff around, building stuff, or destroying cities. The one with the new missle technology probably goes for that one." She conversed openly. This is the problem with new employees: they don't know when to Not say controversial secrets.
Zarkov continued to watch the cashier, who now watched her. The cashier made random 'what?' gestures but soon went in back to avoid the unseen stare of the woman.
"So... What are you in this city for?" Zark asked Zyc out of nowhere.

Xycon flinched slightly at the inevitable truth and looked more distainful if that were possible. "Wouldn't know, lost my memory a while back. One thing I remember is, though, that aren't robots the reason this land is as messed up as it is? I don't see how designing more is going to make everyone's situations any better." Xyc looked back at Zarkov.

Eventually, Zarkov finally got back up and walked over to the counter. She pulled a Pineapple Nanite soda from it after a browse. "The land is messed up? When was the land messed up? It's advanced and full of technology, and the robots are made to keep it that way. That's a good thing, it keeps us on top. If you want messed up, what about those Naturalist idiots making trees pop out of cars and weeds spill from people's noses... Least that's what i heard they did."
She paced to the window in her heavy armor and looked out it. Then she mindlessly tried to open the soda to no success. Her hard-gloved fingers gave the tab on the can no leverage. Looking down at it, Zarkov struggled with it.

"I don't know about any Naturalists but there's plenty of things wrong. Nuclear fallout ring a bell? Half the continent is plagued with it a slow torturous death. We're lucky we aren't plagued with it here. And our country is in ruins while the rest of the world gloats that the mighty has finally fallen." Xycon takes another sip of his drink content to watch Zarkov fight with hers.

Finally, Zarkov leans against something, let's assume the window, and takes her glove off, putting it aside. The glove itself looks terribly heavy and to take it off, she had to hit some buttons on the back of it. Her hand underneath was small and the skin of it didn't look normal. It just didnt' have the right tone of flesh compared to her face. And there were many small holes in it. Either way, with some struggling, she pulled the tab on the can and drank it.
"Nuclear fallout? Hey, just because some big shots with weapons took it a little too far doesn't mean we all are. I think they learned their lesson from that. Look, the incline of robotics and futurism isn't that bad."

"Except for it making it continually easier for global war. At least when we used to make war we didn't destroy the land around us. And what happens when these machines break down and we no longer have anything to help us survive?" Xycon watched Zarkov remove her glove as if someone were removing any other until it was completely off. When it did his face turned even more uninterested, not wanting to know under what circumstances it needed to be done or why she would want to in the first place.
KrazyKelli - November 21, 2007 10:58 PM (GMT)
"Oh please" She sipped her drink and felt the buzz pleasently, "The human race always destroyed the lands around it during a war. Haven't you gone through History 2001? And it's not like a little technology started wars, we've always been killing each other through time."
Another drink from the can before she frowned. "You know, I never realized this, but this stuff tastes like piss."

"You're not the least bit concerned about any collateral damage your machines are going to cause? Things are meant to grow and prosper not be destroyed and blown up." Xycon looked down at how much was left in his cup and took another drink. "And what about ecologically? Now we have to live in these giant cramped cities because most of our continent - planet in fact - is still a biological disaster."
