It was released in Japan a while back, but I just now got around to seeing the R1 DVD.
It's basically an update and adaptation of an older, probably somewhat cheesier anime, but most are in that genre. From the looks of it this might seem like it is too.

The basic premise is that the main character dies and is reborn as the power suit wearing titular hero. But it's not so simple, or just a superhero in a goofy outfit pic. Yes, it could be thought of like that casually looking at previews.

But the story has some depth, not the greatest but still. And the main character is not so pure, I don't know that many in it are. The villains not just throwaway baddies either, not just simply doing evil for evil sake.

I will say this, it may not be the best thing to watch if you're already feeling kind of low though. That said, those looking for a superhero in a powersuit movie that's more serious or has more depth than say, Cutie Honey or Power Rangers fair, I'd encourage you to at least rent this film.
