Title: Netflix has stifled my pirating urge!

I keep talking about how great netflix is. Since their WatchNow thing had a small, crappy selection last year, they've now exploded into entire anime series that you can watch on your computer. Not only this, but they took out the limit of stuff you can watch on WatchNow, so I can marathon if I want...

And this has stifled my urge to go out and dl off streamload or torrents for anime. This is for better or worse? I do not know. Since streamload sucks, I no longer want to pay for it anyway and bit torrenting takes nearly forever. But... Netflix has loads of anime now, even the longer series like Saiyuki and Bleach... And while it's all dub only on WatchNow, I can get it anytime I want after a short 2 minute waiting period.

Not only this, but there is so much anime off Netflix that I can get in the mail as well, with the bonuses and everything on each dvd. I can rent hard to find dvds on the side. Only downside being that some dvds are no longer available in one series, so I have to use bit torrent to get them instead of waiting indefinitely for them to get new ones. Is this bad? This isn't terrible.

With all this anime I'm now freely and very easily able to watch, I'm not kinda... tamed... From my urge to pirate constantly upcoming or new stuff. I'm no longer caught in a bind between dling illegal fansubs or buying it for ridiculously expensive prices. For 13 bucks a month I can see so much with so little effort... It's a good of both worlds and all the same supports the anime companies.

Is this a bad or good thing?

Well it all depends on how you'd like to look at it; at least you're being moral now but, you're not fully sticking it to the companies who sell anime for 5x what it's worth. With that in mind you are still kind of sticking it to them depending on how much you use the netflix service. Heh, though I'm not a fan of TV Programming/Animes/Shows in general so it doesn't help me all to much xD. ^^ Happy not pirating!
