A few people gasped and murmered when they saw Rancor drag Kai through the streets, in chains. But when they saw that Kai was wearing a pirate bandanna, and when Rancor announced he was a hunter...they all fell silent and instead looked away.

Rancor slowly dragged Kai to the marine HQ. Making sure his own face was hidden well in his hood. After all, Rancor was wanted by the authorities as well....

The hunter declared to cash in on a bounty. The marines nodded and let him in.

Rancor picked up his chained victim and slammed him down on the table, in the Marine HQ.

"...how much?" The marine officer began to look Kai over.

"umm.....he isnt recognizable by face...and this pirate crew isnt exactly....memorable either..." The officer nodded to himself slowly.

"500 beli." the officer said, smiling.

-_- "500.....be...li...." Rancor sighed and simply nodded. The officer handed him the money, and more marines came to carry Kai away. But before they left, Rancor remembered.

"By the way, keep him in a well lit area. Or use that seastone crap....this boy has the power of the devils fruit. Mainly, the ability to merge with the shadow...."

The marines blinked, looked at Kai, and nodded. Dragging him off to some cell somewhere. Thats when Rancor walked towards the exit, with his money in hand.

*The Marines dragged Kai off towards the cells. They had one cell made out of seastone, which would make anyone with the devil fruit powers weak and powerless, as if they were dumped into the sea. They continued dragging him down the dimly lit hallway and towards the cell at the end of it, untill all of a sudden they were dragging empty chains.*
*Kai had woken up just in time. Quickly, he moved through the dark hallway as a shadow, slipping through the bars of a regular cell and then through the bars in the wall that made for a small window that led outside, where luckly, the shadows were.*

*Kai walked in and walked up to the desk.* Tell the doctor here t' get ready fer a patient.

"What?" the nurse stared blankly. Kai sounded and looked like a pirate...

I said get ready fer a wounded man coming in, his name be Worf, the other Marines should be bringing him in just a moment. *He didn't care about sounding like a pirate right now, he was too tired to care. A soft bed was sounding good about now... even better than food, which was a rarity.*

The woman couldn't believe the infamous Worf could be so badly injured, but Kai sounded sincere enough, so she went and prepared... Meanwhile, two more guards showed up. "Please come with us..." one said.

*Kai followed the two guards. Thinking was just so hard right now, the second he tried to think clearly about something he head started to hurt and he'd feel even more tired. Rest, he just needed to rest. Even the floor in the hallway was looking like a good bed...*

One of the guards opened up a door to a padded room... Lined with seastone... The other guard suddenly shoved Kai inside and shut the door, opening the little peephole. "Have a good stay, Kaitou..." the laughed. "Baka.. Coming back was bold..." they laughed more as they walked away.

*He almost glared at the gaurds, but gave up and turned to look at the room. At least there was padding on the floors, that was just as good as a bed. Kai walked over to the corner and curled into a ball on the floor. He'd felt what little devil fruit powers he had left at the time disappear, though that didn't bother him, he was used to it. Sleep was his only concern, his eyes then closed and he feel asleep almost instantly.*

The doctor had managed to stitch up Worf, but the wounded man was still on the verge of death... Let's just say it was a long night for the nursing staff... He was mumbling stuff about Kai and shadows and how Kai speared him. Of course most of it was a jumble of word, mumbled all out of order, but the nurses got the point after awhile...

Morning saw two officers from the main base (Kon's base) arrive, and question the doctor and nurses about what happened. The nurses of course told them what Worf mumbled, and the two left to report to Kon...

*Kai woke up to a grumbling stomach. His eyes opened up and he looked around the room and vaguely remembered how he got there. He then remembered were he'd ended up last night, on the pirateship amongst a bunch of dead pirates and with a badly wounded Worf. He still wasn't quite sure what had happened other than thinking that he killed a few of the pirates. He shook his head, then got up and walked towards the door.* Hey! Ye people have food around here?!

The little peephole slid open and a man with a mustache stuck his head there, looking in, but not really at Kai. "Who goes there?"

*Kai looked at the man through the peephole.* Ye mind letting me out, I'm hungry. Besides, I'm not a pirate anyway, I'm a Marine, from the island base not far from here.

"Letting you out?" the man asked, sounding very confused. "Whatever do you mean? You ARE out. You should be asking to come in..." he said, sounding very sure of himself.

Eh?! No, I'm in a room an' I want out, an' if ye aren' going t' let me out ye can at least bring me some food, I'm starving. *He gave a slight glare to the man outside the door.*

The man scratched his head. "You're mistaken laddie, you're outside, and I'm inside the base..." he said, giving Kai a weird look.

Like hell I am, unless outside is a ****ing padded room! Now let me out ye bastard! I'm hungry! -__-

"My my... You stay right there sonny, and I'll send the nice men with the white coats to come take you inside..." he said, sounding a little worried, before walking off muttering something about a poor dilusional soul.

Ye best come back with food! *Kai yelled angerly as the man walked away. He then kicked the door and walked over to the wall and sat down.*
~What the hell is going on? D' they think I'm crazy 'r something?~

Before long, about five men wearing white coats came over and opened the door, one of them holding a seringe. "Now now, everything will be ok..." one of them said consolingly. "We understand you think you're inside already, but I'm afraid you're mistaken... We're here to help you understand..." he continued, talking very soothingly as the others closed in on Kai.

*Kai got up and backed into the corner, as far as he could get from the men in white coats.* Get the **** away from me! I just wanted something t' eat, damnit! *His hands became fists and were about to punch any of the men who came near enough.*

Suddenly all four men tackled Kai, two holding down his hands while the others held his feat... "Relax, everything will be clearer soon..." the man said softly, testing the syring as to get the air out.

NO! Let me go damnit! Let me go ye ****ing bastards! *He tried to fight against them, but to no avale. He was still too tired from the night before and too tired from not having eaten in so long.*

The man came over and knelt down next to Kai. "This will sting for only a second..." he said and injected Kai with some liquid. "Just relax and breath deeply." he said after the injection.

*Kai clentched his teeth as the needle went in.* Ye bastards.... I'll kill ye fer this.... *His then stopped struggling and his eyelids closed halfway. His breathing calmed as if he were about to fall asleep.*

"You are in a relaxed state, getting more so as I count... One, deeper and deeper, two, deeper and deeper... Three, deeper and deeper..." he said soothingly, and soon Kai's eyes were slightly glazed over.
"You need to remember what happened last night, go back and start when you got to the pirate ship..." he said softly.

*Kai then started to reenact what happened back on the ship. First how he'd told the pirates to give up the antidote and then told them of how he then felt a strange energy and was the able to attack the pirates with shadows. He told them of how he enjoyed snapping their bones and crushing them. And then told of Worf coming and saving the last pirate, but sacrificing himself. He said how he stabbed him with two more shadows and how satisfying it was to do so. He told them what he had said to Worf and then what Worf had said. He said how Worf mentioned Seirei and that seemed do something to him.* I then woke up on the deck, I didn' know what happened, just that Worf was injured and there was a bunch of dead pirates all around me... *The last little bit was hard for him to say, because by then, he'd realized what he'd done to Worf and the pirates* I... didn' mean t' hurt Worf... I would never have had I been able t' think straight... *He said a little hystrically, almost starting to cry.*

The men just got up and left Kai silently, nodding to eachother because they managed to confirm what they had gathered from the incoherent Worf.

*Kai curled up in a ball in the corner, and started to cry silently. He would have rather not had remembered those memories, now that he knew what happened. As angry as he got with Worf, he still liked him, as a friend and as a teacher. He knew Worf wouldn't forgive him for what he did, and especially what he said.*

Kon walked in, heading straight towards the infermery, the guards making way for him, each one bowing slightly as the two passed. Once they got to the room with Worf, the nurses left them alone, and waited right outside the room.

:-:Seirei follows Kon to the room in the infirmary Worf is in. Her eyes dullen and she frowns, seeing what a sorry state he's in and almosts gasps, seeing those wounds bandaged up. Places her hand over her mouth and slowly shakes her head. Her rage at Kai beginning to bubble already.:-: God... Worf.

The doctor came in shortly after they arrived and sat down in a chair near the bed. "Sir, I'm afraid it's not looking like he'll last until tomorrow..." he said very sullenly.
"Leave us..." Kon said cooly, and the doctor left. "I have a plan, but it's a lot to ask..." he said, looking at Seirei with a determined look in his eyes.

...why is it a lot to ask? I'd.. do nearly anything to let this man live. He doesn't deserve such a death. :-:Her voice is quiet and sorrowful. Turns back to Kon, a questioning look in her eyes.:-: What is it? Tell me, Kon... there's a very good chance that I will do it. I'll go through with it. What is your plan...?

*Sometime later after having cried for awhile and thought over what had happened, his stomach grumbled violently enough to snap him out of it and actually leave the corner to go ask for food. He approached the door and hit it hard.* Get me some damn food, damnit!

"I was planning on keeping this dangerous item locked away forever, seeing as it can have a permanent impact on someone..." he paused and looked into her eyes. "Knowing full well you'll never swim again, would you eat the healing fruit?" he asked, holding onto her hand.



Meanwhile, the guys in the white coats answered Kai's call for food. They burst in, tackling him, holding him down, and injected him with a different type of liquid...

Never swim...? :-:And that's one of her favorite things. Bites her lip.. but.. what is the ability to swim, compared to someone's life? Looks back at Worf, deliberating this carefully for a moment or two.. before realizing he doesn't have the time for her to take a while to think about this. Takes a deep breath, squeezing Kon's hand.. and then gives one single nod.:-:

*Kai's eyes narrowed and he began to struggle with the men in white coats, yelling curses of all sorts at them.* Damnit! I just wanted food... ye... ****ing... ...... *He stopped struggling and went completely limp.*

"You're strong, I'm sure you'll make the best of it..." Kon said, and gave her hand a squeeze before letting go. "I'll be right back with it..." he said and started to leave.



Very quickly, a crew of men came into Kai's room, and put up a large picture of a table full of food, with a steaming hot turkey among other things, all laminated to look realistic... They drilled tiny little holes right around the main pictures and left the room. In the next room over, they set up a real table full of the food depicted, and had a fan blow the delicious smell into Kai's room...

....you'd better thank me for this when it's over, Worf. :-:Seirei speaks to the unconscious man quietly, with a small smile. Sighs... she's worried though. Just in case it isn't a healing fruit and Kon's made a mistake. Or if they'll have a hurricane sometime soon. Shakes her head, running a hand through her hair.:-: I'll never let you live this down. You'll owe me so much... :-:Reaches over, patting his hand gently.:-:

*Kai started to wake up, feeling very hungry. Something in the air smelled really good. He sat up to see the table with food on it. It didn't matter that he didn't remember there being an open wall there, he got up and ran towards the food... and then into the wall which he hit with a thud and then fell back onto the padded floor. He then rubbed his head and checked out the wall to find it was just a picture there. He glared at it, but just started feeling even more hungry.*
