lol well SH is going to come up at leats once or twice lol. the only game ever to be ab;e to make me tremble in fear is SH1 because i played it the day it came out, when the graphics were great. is was 10 when i played it... so therefor it had a bigger impact. SH2 i dissagree with most people in saying that SH2 is not scary in the least bit... its kinda comical at times. SH3 plain and simple kust coll as hell. this game is kinda creepy but nothin like the first it is the direct sequal and has some of the coolest visuall effects around

I'd like to play Silent Hill 3 someday...
As for SH 1 I had gotten it for my 11th or 12th birthday, so the graphics weren't much of a problem to me...it still isn't now, the story is what counts!...anyway, SH 1 scared the hell out of me. I let my younger cousin play, but he was so afraid, I ended up playing for him. Including the time I beat it for my cousin, I beat the game 3 times, excluding it, I beat it twice.
I only rented SH 2...didn't have the opportunity to finish it yet, but despite what people say about it, I'm planning on getting it before I get SH 3, cause what good is a game if you don't collect all its sequels/prequels, right? XD

Hehe, lucky, I wish my friends would give me games that they don't play anymore... XD

RE... always knocking SH2... It was an awesome game.. I do agree that it isn't really a sequal to SH1 in that the storry lines don't match up as well as going from SH1 to SH3.. however.. none of the Final Fantasy games (with the recent exception of FFX and FFX-2) were sequals but they were good games. SH1 was the most frightening because of the originality. SH2 was the most frightening psychologicaly. You really do have to analize it a bit... but it is still very creepy. Also, James was sort of a klutz. If you set the difficulty up he trips from time to time. SOme people think it is annoying, but think about it. He is a normal dude trapped in a nightmare... he could stumble over stuff from tiem to time. SH3.. well.. not too much to figure out as far as the plot goes. It comes together well and looks great. I really like the crossovers between the worlds.. especialy one that takes place with a mirror right in front of the main character. I just never got as claustrophobic in SH3 as I did in SH2 or even SH1. The SH1 graphics are still pretty good.. but I would love it if they rehashed it and put it out with improved graphics.

A great series.. I think I have all but the first game (which I think I beat, but its been a while). n_n;;; I have hardly had the chance to play SH3, but what I played/saw I liked.
Never got around to beating 2, but in order to see a few scenes in 3 I've been trying to beat it. Anyone who plans on buying SH2, just some advice, get the Greatest Hits version because it has a few goodies in it the initial release didn't have (I now have both versions n.n lol).
I really need to get back to playing SH2 & 3, but wanna beat FFX-2 first. n_n;;;;
As far as comparing it and the BH/RE series, I think they are rather different
so it wouldn't be too fair to compare the two (though I think SH is the scarier of the two).
Would like to play Fatal Frame 1&2 as well, see how that is. n_n

Hehe, thanks Raguna, now I'll be buying the Greatest Hits version! When I can...
RE and SH series were both great, but SH was more freaky and psychologically scary. Although, RE was more surprising and a little difficult of you think about it. SH 2 was pretty easy because you had a lot of space to move around in; in exception of the aparment building and hospital of course, but still, it was really scary to play it...especially if you just rented it and are playing it on hard mode on the first time you're playing it...

LOL SH2 was not enough to scare me nor was SH3... yesterday all i dud was F!@# around and took doen the CLOSERS with the knife(takes a while). SH1 is sfar more frantic than the others, and with the switching into Alessa's nightmare is really freaky... now i hate sires >,<
Saizo - January 7, 2004 11:29 PM (GMT)
now you hate sirens? lol I hated them the first time I heard them. It was really freaky when you switched to the alternate school in the beginning...walk through the clocktower just to end up in a school that was exactly the same as one you've been to despite its appearance...

gotta agree on that part of scaring the hell ou t of you Sh1 were really creepy and scary. remind you i played it when there was a ps2. sh2 was out.. but never mind the grapics were good... the way all twisted around you. the little girl... crap it was scary as hell. i usaly play scary and horror films games with all lights out. in sh1 i had atleast a flashlight at my side always on and blanket over me.... you know liek a small kid watching a horror movie while not allowed to... i was prolly 16 at that time.... man it was scary...
and you cant compare RE and SH to each other... RE is a game where you shoot more then try to figure out pusslez.. and Sh is the oppsit i think... so far since i played but in my mind you cant compare them... Sh has as said more open spaces and the world around you changes.. it does not in RE....
Saizo - February 14, 2004 01:22 AM (GMT)
If you think about it, RE isn't as scary as I first assumed. It's basically about a company wanting ot use biological weapons, nothing scary in that in my opinion.
As for SH, if someone was trying to create biological weapons...they're doing a hell of a good job targeting a single character! Well, 4 if you count all 4 SH games.

RE isnt scary... but i like the small things they try to shock you with... i just love scaring the hell out of my cusin when hes over at my hose so usaly RE 1 or RE2 and i alwasy keep saved teh places where its most scary... then i make him play it ensure him nothings gonna happen. then he walks like 2 steps or enter a door and BAM... he gets suprised and shocked as hell throwing the joybad into the floor crawling under my blanket thing or what ever its called.... ITS SO FUNNNNNNNNYYYYY. hehe but i stick to SH1
