Kon had taken Kai back to his island base, and had then brought him up into his hq room. Kai was resting on a lone chair in the middle of the room, nothing on him except for his underwear and a peculiar looking collar. Made of seastone, the anti devil fruit substance, it was kept on with a weird looking lock. It looked like the collar was a large single piece with no seams even, but it did have a single tiny keyhole in back.

Kon was sitting behind his desk in a large reclining chair, and there were two guards by the door, with another one beside Kai with a bucket of water. With a nod from Kon, the water was dumped on Kai, and the guard withdrew so Kai was alone and free to stand up, and even free to try something..... As Kai woke up, Kon leaned forward over the desk and dangled a silver necklace, twirling it slightly so the snake dragon spun a little, in plain sight for Kai to see.

*He woke with a start from the cold water. First thing he noticed was that he wasn't wearing much, though felt something around his neck. He touched it with a hand, feeling the colar around his neck. He then glared at the person sitting in front of him, Kon, and noticed the familiar silver necklace being twirled around.*
What's all this fer and why d' ye have me necklace?!

"You my friend, are the newest addition to my fine marine crew..." he smirked amd suddenly stopped twirling the chain and put it away quickly. "And marines must adhere to a strict dress code...." he smirked again.

I'm no ****ing Marine! Now gimme back me necklace!
*He pushed himself up to his feet, but found standing to be a little difficult. He grabbed onto the side of the chair to keep from falling.*
~shit, this collar must be made out of seastone... it's making me weak...~

"My friend, you don't have much choice, now do you?" he chuckled evily and nodded to one of the guards, who promptly walked over and punched Kai in the gut.

*He fell forwards and to the ground. He wouldn't have been able to withstand that punch much normally, but with the weaking effects of seastone, he just collapsed.*

"Get yourself up." Kon said in a low tone. "And quit your whining, or you won't last long here...."

*Continues to lay there* I'm not going t' d' as ye say! Now gimme back me necklace!

Kon gave another nod, and a swift kick went into Kai's side. After watching him writhe a bit, Kon sighed. "Look, you're not gonna last long... Just cooperate...."

*He didn't want to give into Kon, but it was the only choice he had right now, either that, or be beaten to death. He forced himself to his feet, barelly standing.* So why the **** d' ye want me t' be a Marine fer? I can't d' much with this damn collar on me. -.-

Kon simply chuckled in reply. "Oh, and my boy, a marine can't be talking like a pirate, so you better work on that too...."

... I dun know how t' not talk like a pirate. I've been one fer 10 years now, that be over half me life. *glares at Kon* An' ye didn't answer me question, why d' ye want me t' be a Marine?!

"Tisk tisk, you're not learning...." Kon shook his head with a sigh as the guard punched Kai once again in the gut. "I'm your commanding officer. You answer to me, and NEVER question my autority!" he yelled the last bit as he stood up.

*He fell to his knees and doubled over in pain, after the pain subsided some, he looked up from the ground at Kon, still glaring at him.*
~That asshole wants me t' answer t' him? I'd almost rather sit in a cell fer the rest of me life. Then again... this might be the only way out. I just need t' get back t' town, maybe then I can get this collar off of me.~
*He stood to his feet again, and mumbled a very quiet...* Yes sir...

"Good..." Kon said as he sat back down, and almost as if he read Kai's mind, he began to chuckle. "Oh, and like the collar? It was essentially welded on to a point where only a single key can open it. It was even tested against hammers, swords, crowbars, lockpicks, and more so don't think you can escape us."

~Damnit.... -.- Hmm, I'll just have t' find the key then... though where he could be hidding, I'm not sure.~
So'm I going t' get any clothes t' wear anytime soon? I dun much like wearing just me underwear and a damn collar. -.-

"Soon. Soon. But first we must initiate you...." he smirked as the guards pulled him up and held his arms up while another marine slid the marine armband on. They then pushed him onto his stomach on the floor, and after awhile, the word 'Marine was tattooed on his back. "We're going for a little walk now...." Kon chuckled evily as he stood up and walked over while Kai was roughly pushed back to his feet.

*Kai's thoughts were now turned to how much he wanted to kill Kon right now. He followed Kon on his 'walk', his back still stinging from the tattoo. Glad at least his long hair covered up most of the tattoo, the fewer people that saw it the better.*

As they walked through the streets, the crowd grew and grew. Finally they made it into the city center and waited a bit for the crowd to gather around.

"Ladies and gentlemen, we are proud to announce another fine addition to the marine force!" Kon yelled out. "His name is Kai and he has such dedication, that he even had us tattoo the marine symbol on his back, and made the request for us to cut his hair in public!" Kon smiled wide as he shouted. As he spoke, a guard cut Kai's hair straight across to a little shorter than shoulder length, making the tattoo completely visible.

The crowd cheered, but a small shady looking group off to the side whispered to eachother and shot Kai the evileye...

*His face was red, from embarrasment and anger.*
~I am going t' kill that ****ing bastard if it kills me!~
*The sun was starting to come up now. This would have worried Kai if he hadn't been so intent on coming up with a plan to kill Kon and had actually noticed the sun coming up.*

"Ok folks, that's all for now..." Kon smiled and the crowd began to disperse as they started to walk back to the base.

*Now that they were away from the crowd, Kai put a hand to his head, feeling how much of his hair was now gone. He actually was proud of his long hair which took years to get that long, now it was gone.* Why'd ye have t' d' that in front of all of them?!

"We do that to each new marine..." Kon said mater-of-factly. Soon they returned to the base, and Kon took him directly to the uniform supply room, tossing some heavy clothes at Kai. "Here're the only clothes you'll get for a long time...."

*He took the clothes and looked them over. It was the usual Marine attire. White sleeveless shirt with the word 'Marine' and the Marine symbol on back, white hat with Marine written on it, black pants, and black boots. He put the clothes on, though not very thrilled about it. The tattoos on his arms still showed, two snake like dragons much like the necklace, one on each forearm. He hoped Kon wouldn't do anything about those.*

"Ok kid, next up is the start of your work around here...." he chuckled as he led Kai out into the hall where there were two other young kids, each with a mop and bucket. "See the extra mop and bucket? That's for you. Get to work cleaning this place and I'll be back later to check up on you. The guards will keep an eye while I'm away." he said and promptly left.

*He grumbled and grabbed the mop. He'd had to do this before with the pirate crews he'd been with, but doing it now with the seastone collar around his neck made it much worse. After just a few swabs across the floor he sat down against the wall, breathing hard.*

Suddenly Kon was back, glaring down at Kai. "Do I really need to tell you what'll happen if you slack off here?" he said sternly. "Get the ****** back to work!" he yelled, picking Kai up by the collar and holding him off the ground with one hand, there faces close together as he glared into his eyes.

If ye be wanting me t' work, ye shouldn't have put this collar on me. How'm I supposed t' work if I can barely walk around in the first place?
*He glared back at Kon.*

"If you value your life, I'm sure you'll find a way..." he said quietly, threateningly, and then suddenly threw Kai against the wall. "Don't let me catch you slacking...." he said as he walked away again.

*Once Kon had left, he forced himself back to his feet. His stubbornness wouldn't let him loose against Kon. He felt very tired, but forced himself to work anyway. He'd felt like he'd been worked all day and night in the span of an hour with the collar on. Once the floor was clean, he walked back over to the wall, hardly able to see straight, and then passed out, sitting against the wall.*

Kon had been leaning back in his chair reading a book when an officer came in and whispered something to him. A dark look came over Kon's face as he stood up and walked quickly out the door, the other officers making haste to get out of the way. He went directly to where Kai had fallen asleep, and dumped the bucket of soapy, dirty water all over him and then just stood there, glaring down at him, arms crossed.

*He woke up again, with a start, shaking the water out of his now short hair and wiping it out of his eyes. He looked up at the cause of his waking to find Kon standing over him, looking none to happy.*
What'd ye d' that fer? I cleaned the floor like ye asked me t'. -.-

"Really now...." Kon said sarcastically as he looked down the hallway around the corner. "There's more to this base than just a ******ing four foot section!!" he yelled as he threw the mop at Kai.

I cleaned more than a four foot section! Besides, I can't d' more than that with this damn collar on! *He glared back up at Kon, holding the mop like he was about ready to beat Kon with it.*

Kon simply picked Kai up single handed and threw him roughly down the hallway, face first into a bit of mud on the floor.

*Kai pushed himself to his feet, still weak from the collar. He wiped the mud off of his face and glared back at Kon, still holding the mop in one hand.*
Why not just get the guards ye have watching me mop the place? They'd be able t' d' it faster than how I am with the collar on.
*He threw the mop down on the ground and crossed his arms.* Find someone else t' d' it, because I'm not going t'.

Without a sound, Kon nodded to two guards who promptly dragged Kai off down the hallway, finally stopping in front of a large iron door. Kon walked over and unlocked it, swinging it open to reveal a square hole in the ground with an iron lid open. There was a weird looking contraption filled with water nearby too.... Kai was roughly tossed into the hole and the lid slammed shut on the small enclosure, just big enough for one full grown man. Once closed, it was pitch black inside, and suddenly water began to slowly drip on him through a tiny hole in the lid. There was huge pauses between the drips, and Kon laughed evily.

"Kid, learn to respect authority and follow orders, or I'll have you executed next time...." he said in a low, serious vouce.

*Kai's breathing began to quicken. The darkness was bad enough, but the small space made it even worse, not to mention the annoying drip, which kept hitting his hat and making a -plunk- noise. He pressed his hands to the lid, trying to push it up, but unable to do so, then banging on it.*
Let me out of here ye ****ing bastard! *sounding very scared and paniced*

"No, you're going to sit there and think about your actions." Kon said coldly before leaving and locking the room's door behind him.

*He heard Kon's words, then banged on the lid a few more times, yelling several curses at Kon. After tiring himself out from that, he sat down on the now wet floor.*
~Damn collar! I need t' get out of here, I'd be able t' without this ****ing thing!~
*He yanked at the collar several times, but only managed to make his neck sore. He then sat there shaking, in silence, other than the -plunk- noise of the drip, which was really getting annoying.*
*Several hours later.*
*He hadn't gotten to sleep, partly because of his fear of the dark, but mostly because of that annoying dripping, which had now caused the small area to fill up most of the way, so Kai was forced to stand. The water was now up to his chest.*
Someone! Anyone, get me out of this thing! ... please? *Fear and panic in his voice. Asking for help was something he didn't do unless forced to, which this situation did.*
