Title: Video Game Music.
Description: yeah....I like it....

I was wondering to myself, as I listened to some spcs....video game music is great. Games have good osts and stuff. I decided to make this thread, to satiate my curiosity....or however you spell that word. Just list what your favorite video game OSTs (or sound track, or music, or whatever the game calls it), maybe even tell why.

For me....well.....

1. Earthbound. For some reason, the songs in this game just move me.....and I like them. They're catchy and memorable, and their just very good. Keep in mind, I'm a super die hard Earthbound fan....so maybe thats why it has the affect on me.

2. Guilty Gear series. I loved the tracks from GGX1 and 2. The nice hard rocking tunes just seemed to make the wonderful fast-paced combat so very great. The songs were just so awesome, I downloaded a few and I listen to them all the time. So great.

3. Mystical Ninja: Starring Goemon 64. Yeah, for some reason I loved the music in this strange platformer game. "I am Impact" can still get stuck in my head if someone goes 'dash dash dash!'.

4. Mischief Makers. A game that really doesnt get enough credit, even though most of the games I like dont. I like the music in this game cause....well....yeah. Just thought the music fitted the mood, and it was nice to listen to.

5. Castlevania. Just like the whole gothic tune thing. The series always had good music, and so yeah I like it. Number 5 it goes into.

Yes, well I just did my top 5.....you however can decide to post whatever. Top 3, 2, 1, 103453242.3......I just typed it out because I am a loser with nothing else better to do.

Anyway, this is the part where I click that certain button, then wait for a reply.

1. Final Fantasy ( 1-11, MQ, Legend 1-3, Adventure 1-2, et. al.) - Yeah.. every single final fantasy has ass kicking music... Though if I had to pick my favorites I would say that FFX is the most beautiful and FF6 is the most memorable. Any symphonic version or real instrument version of pretty much any FF track is hella cool.

2. Silent Hill 2 - Awesome music that really goes well with the game. Best of the SH hill series soundtracks as a stand alone soundtrack.

3. Castlevania SOTN - Kicks ass all over the place. Lament of innosence also has some good stuff.

4. Guilty Gear X & XX - I agree, man.. I will listen to this stuff on it own all the time. Even my non hardcore gamer roommate loves the soundtracks. If GG didn't have such good music, I probably wouldn't even play it. The music totally makes the game.. though it is a pretty good fighter... in the top 3 of the 2D fighter games... I am a DOA and SC fan when it comes to fighting games.

5. Legend of Zelda LttP - this music triggers serious nostalgia for me and still holds it own despite it's 16-bit heritage.

Here's a "short" list. :D

1. Final Fantasy I - XI - My favorite would probably be FF VI and most memorable...I can't decide between FF VII and FFIX; nevertheless all of these games were great with their music.

2. Silent Hill 2 - I'm gonna have to agree with Issue, it fit the game well. In fact, some parts in the game it was the music that made me jump rather than the spitting demons or the armed zombie nurses...

3. Chrono Trigger/Cross - Time's Scar and Robo's theme are probably my favorite in both osts.

4. Legend of Mana (I guess Secret of Mana (2) can be counted as well...) - the music was great, and the opening of Legend of Mana was really peaceful. The Secret of Mana series had great music as well, but not as good as Legend of Mana.

5. Mario World (and all other games related to Mario) - the music for each game was really cool and although some of the music on newer Mario games were just remixes of the old ones, they were still pretty cool. Super Mario RPG probably had the best music...I dunno why, probably cause it was an RPG? >.>

6. Zelda: Ocarina of Time/Link's Awakening - enjoyable music and great to listen to..what more can I say? XD

Anything squaresoft. (saves time on typing a list of all of their games:P :))

Castlevania, especially Circle of the Moon and Symphony

Megaman. The NES ones, and MMX1. After those, the songs tend to become less memerable.

Metal Gear 1, for NES. That had some good music, heh.

Why not.. I'll make a top five list, though it looks similar to a lot of yours. I'll try to substitute some of my top picks to get some variety going.

1.Any Bemani game. Tracks from Dancemania are great, even the Konami Originals merit some worth. NMR, w00t!

2.Castlevania Symphony of the Night: see the other posts to understand why I love this stuff.

3.Zone of the Enders has a nice electronic score that gets my blood pumping everytime I throw it in.

4.Soul Calibur is very epic, and I like epicness.

5.Jet Set Radio Future. Some say the original had a better soundtrack, but I enjoyed the second installment moreso. More dance tracks with this one.
