Kon's Marine Base Island. (think like Capt. Smoker's base)

*Kai wandered out towards the courtyard. On the way he spotted several other strong looking guys making their ways there as well.*

It was a fairly small courtyard, mainly because it was only kind of a greeting and show place for the base. It had a large fountain in the middle, and a nicely laid brick floor. A line began forming of really strong looking guys, shoulder to shoulder ala military inspection.

*Kai looked at the line of people in the courtyard. He started to walk out towards them untill he started to feel a bit weaker than normal. The sun it seemed, still weakened him. Seastone collar or not. Kai then stepped back into the shadows of the building.*
~D' I go out there or not? Kon's going t' kill me if I dun't, but I dun know if going out thar's going t' be much different.~
*After a moment, he walked back out into the courtyard and into the line.*

Soon the scurrying around ceased and everyone stood as straight as possible, and as quietly as possible. You could've heard a pin fall it was that quiet. Five minutes went by... And then ten...

*After about ten minutes of standing there, in the sun, Kai started feeling very sick. He was having trouble standing up straight and was looking very sickly. He was breathing pretty hard for just having to stand there and was starting to sweat. Who was it they were waiting for anyway?*

"Aten... HUT!" an officer yelled out and all the men stood up even straighter and raised their hands in salute as Kon walked down the line.

*Kai saw what everyone else did, and raised his hand in a salute as well, though this was done with much difficulty. His hand and arm shaking a bit as he saluted. That wasn't the only difficulty he was having other than standing up straight, he was also having trouble keeping his eyes open. Lack of sleep and feeling like he might pass out soon causing this.*

Kon walked back to the middle and grinned. "At ease." he said. "Ok men, Lt. Worfshire here will be in command from here on out." he said with a deep evil chuckle as he walked off. A towering man about seven feet tall with bulging muscles, tattoo covered arms, and even a snake tattoo on the side of his face that continued down his neck stepped forward. A few gulps could be heard as soon as Kon chuckled...
"So, what do you mangey dogs think we're gonna be doing here?" Worf asked, an equally evil chuckle coming from him too. Kon picked his officers well...

*Kai looked up at the huge man and remained quiet, concentrating mostly on not passing out.*
~I'm going t' die here... I just know it. If Kon wun't kill me, this guy will...~

"Speak up, or you'll all be running til you collapse!" Worf yelled out.

Um... *He said a little quietly, then spoke up* Training, sir? *Voice wavering a bit.*

Another marine shouted out something along the lines of being the best possible marine at the same time Kai said his bit. However, Worf walked straight up to Kai, looking down, he grinned. "What did you say?"

Um... *He said a bit meekly* I said t' train us, sir. *Looking up at him, while trying not to fall over as he did so.*

"What's your name marine?!" he asked gruffly.

Me name's Kai, sir. *Still speaking meekly.*

"Good job Kai." he whispered almost nicely as he briefly leaned over. "That's exactly right!" he yelled out, pacing back and forth. "Cut the bullshit about being the best marines! Only reason I have you here is to train you pure and simple!" he yelled. "Now all of you take twenty laps around the entire base!" he yelled out and put a a hand on Kai's shoulder. "You stay here..." he said quietly.

*The others ran off and Kai looked up at Worf. Was this a reward for answering correctly? What ever the reason, Kai was just glad he wasn't going to have to run as weakened as he was from the sun.*

"Now don't let this go to your head.... You did something right THIS time..." he said coldly before walking off and sitting down in the shade, watching the others run past for the first lap....

*Kai walked over into the shade with him and was very glad to do so. Feeling much better almost instantly as he got into the shadow.*
~Well, maybe he's not that bad, I wonder if I should tell him about me weakness t' the sun... and t' water fer that matter.~
*Kai continued to stand there, looking like he might have wanted to say something.*

"Spit it out." he said coldly, all hint of any kindness gone now...

Well... I just wanted ye t' know that I have a bit of an...'allergy' t' the sun. It makes me sick going out int' it. There's that, and I can't swim... at all. *He said a bit quietly and the next part even quietier* I have devil fruit powers...

"Yes, I already knew all that, and I admire your honesty here..." he trailed off, and a cold look came across his face. "But I will show you no leniency when it comes to your training. You will just have to find a way to overcome your weaknesses."

*He went quiet for a few more moments, then spoke up again* All I need is some way t' block the sun. Me thinks having this hat helps a bit, but a sleeveless shirt dun't.

"Baka, nothing physical will help ye...you enough...." he caught himself from saying ye....

~Ye? How many other pirates be working here? Either Kon is a pirate, or he likes having a lot of former pirates under him.~
Are ye saying that I need t' somehow become amune t' the sun? I hope ye aren't suggesting that I might some how be able t' swim, t'. -.-

"Baka, it's a mind state..." he said, starting to sound annoyed. "Don't make me show you what I mean..." he said, and for a second, it seemed like his muscles became even bigger (think ussj).

*Kai blinked.* ~Did he just...? Me thinks I've been in the sun t' much.~
Ok, I get ye, it's a state of mind. Though it would help if I didn' have this collar on me. It makes me even weaker. *Subconsciously tugging at the collar a bit with his hand.*

"Don't touch that thing anymore than you have to..." he mumbled, looking almost like he was dozing off under the tree, which of course he wasn't, but sure looked like it. XD

How'm I not supposed t' touch it?! It's around me damn neck! *He almost glared back at Worf, then noticing that he looked like he was sleeping. Kai sighed and grumbled slightly. Kai also noticed that there didn't seem to be anyone else around.*
~I could sneak off now... what am I saying? I'll get killed fer sure if I even try. Well, at least if I get caught... ~
*Kai shook the thought out of his head, then sat down on the grass under the tree in the courtyard.*

Worf let out a grin as he noticed Kai sit down. Much much later the rest of the platoon arrived, panting and sweating a lot. Most of them just collapsed on the ground, yet Worf continued to pretend like he was sleeping, just to see who'd be brave enogh to wake him...

*Kai looked at the very tired group of trainies, then back to the 'sleeping' Worf.*
~I'm going t' have t' wake him up, aren't I? -.-~
Ahem! *Sounding like he was clearing out his throat loudly* Sir, everyone is done running.

Worf just kept 'sleeping' and the rest of the men breathed a sigh of relief.
"Hey man, just let him sleep." some said. "Yeah, give us a breather!" others said.

*He turned to the others who had come back from running* D' ye really think he's going t' want us t' let him sleep? Just call it a hunch, but me thinks he wouldn't like it much.

"We gonna have to MAKE you be quiet?" one of the bigger guys said threateningly.
"But he does have a point..." someone else quietly said before a glare silenced him.

*Kai pushed himself up from the ground and glared back at the guy.* Ye want t' explain t' him that ye let him sleep cuz ye were tired?! Me thinks he won' take that as a very good excuse!

The man making the threats approached Kai, and glared directly into his eyes since they were of equal height. "Shut the ****** up..." he said quietly, though it was obvious he wanted to yell.

Make me ye landlubin' asshole! *Kai's fists clentched and was ready to take a swing at the guy. Hopefully if it did come to swings, the other guy would be too tired to fight very well. It was actually something Kai was counting on.*

Suddenly the other guy flew through the air, hitting the far wall hard, even making an impression in the brick wall making it obvious he died. Towering over everyone, Worf had a deranged look in his eyes. "I do not tolerate insubordination!!!!" he yelled, his fists still clenched.

*Kai watched the man fly and then crash into the wall, looking quite dead. He then turned with a frightened look at Worf, backing away from him, incase his wrath might turn to him somehow.*
