Title: Noone Plays FF7!
Description: What's Wrong In The World!?

KrazyKelli - February 6, 2004 06:38 AM (GMT)
Now I've heard FF7 bashingly recently.. like how the graphics are horrible and stuff... But everyone should agree with me that it's a Classic of games. I mean, I bought my PS1 to play FF7 when it first came out. XD

I drew Nanaki, and wanted to tell my DA friends.. However, after IMing 6 of them (6 ******ing people!), all but 1 were gamers.. None of them have played FF7! Dude, what's wrong in the world today!?

This just bothers me to great extreme.. so discuss while I calm down.

I strongly dislike the final fantasy series. It's not so much the games as it is the fans, they can ruin anything. FF=Overrated, but good nonetheless.

DemonBonham - February 6, 2004 07:36 PM (GMT)
most FFs suck,,, but FFVII is the best... i love it. but i prefer teh original RPG series for NES Dragon Warrior. most gamerz know that FF is overrated.

Swuppah - February 9, 2004 04:06 AM (GMT)
FFXII IS THE BEST FF game there is... i dont care about the tacs... the gameplay was wow. unlike FFXIII where you could tab the eneyms materie or what ever and use it agains them self... that was lame. the story in FFXII was reallly good. and at the time it came out the grapics whaere good.... comeon grapics aint all in a game. though many gamedevelopers aim for it now... i want more deepness in the games like FFXII, System shock 2, Deus Ex, and old games.... thoes are good game... now talk about old games brings me on to settelers... the first settlers and settlers 2 are the best of them in the series. their where historic correct apart from S3 and S5 where its egyptians. Romans and vikings against each other.....
bubble bobble. another old game grapics want that good but its really fun... so i end up saying Grapics aint the best.... FFXII ROCKS ALL TIME

KrazyKelli - February 9, 2004 04:18 AM (GMT)
Gomen nasai, Swup... But do you mean FFVII (FF7) or FFXII (FFX2). XD your conversation's confused me beyond all.

Saizo - February 14, 2004 01:16 AM (GMT)
I really like all FFs since I'm such a big FF fan. But I do not like them simply because I'm a fan, I like them because each of them were unique and had their own stories; in exception to the common Crystal themes in most of them and the Chocobos and Moogles.

FFVIII was by far my favorite FF; almost everyone I know hates it, but I guess they're entitled to their own opinions. I enjoyed the Junction System and the Drawing of magic since it was original and was never repeated in any of the other FFs. I'm not a really big fan of love stories, but this one was an exception. Quistis was my favorite character since her part in the game is quite interesting.

FFVII was also really great, and no, not because it was the first FF to be out for the PSX! The Materia system was very interesting, yet difficult at the same time because you--unless you used a guide--kept wondering whether or not you've found all the Materias or not. Nanaki (Red XIII) is a kick-ass character, but sorry KK, I'm gonna have to go with Vincent as my favorite character. His limit break was by far the best among the others...well, maybe not Omnislash, but Cloud is one of the main characters after all.

FVI was definitely the best FF in the 2D graphics category. You had a whole lot of characters to choose from and not to mention a handful of sidequests you couldn't help but complete. The music was definitely worthwhile...just saying those words are making me want to play the game. XD As for my favorite character...Shadow, definitely Shadow, but Sabin and Locke come close behind.

@Shores of Finland: Hey a fan that didn't ruin anything. ^_^

Swuppah - February 17, 2004 09:08 AM (GMT)
damn man now your making me wanna go out and buy the console and FFXI now... but yeah vincent were really amazing... but the most loving charater in the game FFXII was caith sith or what ever the name was... a cat opon som giant animal thing whom turned out to be a dobble spy... but it was cute... but yeah i was glad when i found 2 of the best materia there was after my taste one was the odin thing the dude taht rode in on his six legged horse or what ever and decapitated their head.. and Knights of the round table... though it toke a lot of time to use... god it was amazing.... but my cloud limitbreak was meteora.... just gotta love some fellow that could throw meteroa after the enemy.... anyone know where i can get FFXI and for what....

Akisu - February 23, 2004 08:56 AM (GMT)
@Swuppah: I = 1, V = 5, X = 10

I think some might be a bit overrated, but I've really enjoyed most of the ones I've played. FFVI is certainly one of my favorite RPGs out there. And it's not graphics that count in all cases. FFVI was a great game and it was only 16bits.

The crystal themes aren't that bad, I mean they could be worse. It was possible for crystal chronicles to be about crystals, but they pretty much weren't. The crystals were just a gameplay element, barely in the game at all and I didn't even notice them untill about halfway through the game (I'm still taking as long as possible to beat it :P ). Eh, and I don't know anything else about FF games, so I'll go now. :P

Raguna Megido - February 24, 2004 02:14 AM (GMT)
I've played FFVII. o_O Nanaki was cool I guess.. So I'm sure a pic would be cool. n_n

But my favourite was Vincent. B)
My party wasn't complete without him (and likely Yuffie too). n_n
It's a classic in it's own way and the graphics were great for their day.

I -also- liked FFVIII. Not my favourite (I don't know if I -have- a favourite), but now that I'm older since I had last played it, I enjoyed it more (love story and all).
Plus Squall is a bit of a Gackt lookalike (Gackt it up Squall!). n.n lol
Oh yes, and I <3 Edea. :D

The FF series is good, but it's not the only "kid on the block".
I enjoy many series besides FF. n_n

Personally I never really played Final Fantasy games, and only heard general conversations about them until almost a year ago when my friend was playing FFX (I think) and I saw a character called Faris, who was a female pirate that was actually percieved as male by the others...

Earlier that year I had created a character called Farro for my comic who was a female pirate that was percieved as a male...

Let's just say my first impression wasn't overly great! (They stole my idea before I'd even come up with it! :ph43r: )

Anyway, beyond that I never took interest until I was bored one fateful day and bought Final Fantasy: Tactics Advance on the GBA...

I still love that game and was instantly interested in playing other Final Fantasy games. However, not being a Play Station person, I had to borrow my mates console and his games...

His suggestion was that I play Final Fantsy XII, and from what he ,and most of my other mates say, it's the best one, if not the defining moment for Square games.

So, my impression of Final Fantasy XII? It's pretty good. The graphics on the sprites are not to my tastes, considering I'm a Nintendo fan and the graphics for the N64 were obviously, considerably better off. However, the scenery looks great (classic painted backgrounds). The story thus far is good, and the battle system seems okay (however I despise the save system, since I'm not the sort of person that has loads of time to spend trawlling through the game looking for a save point -_-; )

I played Crystal Chronicles, albeit in Japanese, and am desperately wishing I had some cash lying around so I could buy it. The multiplayer system is excellent and the graphics are mouth watering. The story escapes me since it was in Japanese -_-;

Anyway, the fact that these people havn't played Final Fantasy XII is excusable, however they should probably take a look into the game if they play later versions.

Oh and check out Final Fantasy X 2's disco music *was scared by it* Still, I am very interested in the whole Tidus concept. I think it was a good idea, though I don't know what's going on in X2 yet...

Shores of Finland - February 24, 2004 09:57 PM (GMT)
XII? That is twelve, and it is not out yet. Are you talking about X2? (I am confused, I'm not trying to be offensive or anythin g)

Chibi Chichiri - February 25, 2004 03:48 AM (GMT)
@The Britt: Faris was in FFV. ^^

KrazyKelli - February 25, 2004 05:39 AM (GMT)
Hey, how bout we just skip the roman numerals and stick to Numbers, ne? The conversation lost me when people are putting X(which is 10) instead of V (which is 5).

Backyard - February 29, 2004 09:09 PM (GMT)
The way I've understood it is X is ff10, FFXI is ff11 (the online one), and FFX2 is the sequel to FFX.

Lewis Daggart - March 13, 2004 06:23 AM (GMT)
I love FF7, heh. I remember when I read about it in nintendo power.. I got my nintendo 64 so I could play that game..

Of course, we all know that Square and N broke up, leaving my 64 in extreme disuse until Ocarina of Time came out. I never did get a playstation. I ended up playing the game at a friends house and later buying the computer version. Still, the game is a classic, heh.

Elsie - March 14, 2004 12:36 AM (GMT)
Roman Numerals are too confusing...I like using regular numbers.

I remember when FF7 first came out I was really excited, its why I had to get a playstation in the first place. I just really like rpgs more than any other type of game, until a system has some good rpg's on it, I'm not interested in it. Favorite character is Cloud. ^__^

DemonBonham - April 16, 2004 04:52 AM (GMT)
how do people mix up Roman Numerals. i use them where ever lol

I,II, III, IV, V, VI, VII, VIII, IX, X, XI, XII, XIII, XIV, XV, XVI, XVII, XVIII, XIX, XX, XXI

i learned this on me own as well it gets cloudy when i hit 49. i alwasy for get the 50 symbol
