Title: Good Anime, Bad Anime

Anime in general has been a discomfort in some ways and a comfort in others.
To start, post something good you generally see in anime, and then something that just irritates you.
K, for the good stuff... I like how not all anime is exactly alike. yet that none of it is pointless and dumb (like a few cartoons I've seen nowadays). Sure I hear people go, "this anime is exactly like this one" it's still different in many other ways... And when you see enough anime to loose the ability to see differences in plot and such, there's always this handful of anime that will completely throw you off and make your day XD
For bad stuff? I Extremely hate it when the drawing isn't consistant. Such as.. A Charrie gets his clothing shredded up or gets a scratch... yet 20 seconds later he's perfectly fine and untouched... Same with coloring. Sometimes in anime I notice that a charrie is one color one moment, a different shade or color the next for no real reason (no light changes), then back to the previous color all in the same scene.. Just seems unprofessional to me and irritates the crap outta me.

Good stuff.. I like seeing morals and viewpoints being batted around.. like when Naruto kicks the hell out of Neji and declares that people make their own destiny... but at the same time, Naruto has gifts that give him an advantage at times.. so Anime has truth that is not simple.. there is not only one reason for things working out the way they do... I lso like hot girls in sailor fukus.
Bad... poorly explained plot elements. Like.. Eps 25 and 26 of Evangelion... That is some BS... Of the ending of Avenger... When it is obvious that the writers couldn't think up a good reason for things to happen so they just make it confusing... I also dislike it when there are not enough hot girls in sailor fukus.

^^` my turn again, I guess...
I like how Anime doesn't have 'child saftey' limits. They can express gayness, swear, have charries (female charries, anyway) nude. .And noone gives a damn (over there, anyway).
however, I don't like how anime is dubbed. Back in the past, the voices were at least standible.. But I don't know how Americans thought, "Hey, let's hire voicetalents with highpitched anal voices for all out female main characters!"

Not so recent, but Dominion Tank Police was dubbed pretty well. Particularly the Puma Twins (although it was one voice for both of them...)

On the new side of bad dubbing.. WItch Hunter Robin... awesome show.. horrible dubbing.

WHR dubbing is not so bad. Some of the character's voiced could have been tweeked much but it is tolerable. Bad dubbing is Sailor Moon. I loved the dub but they did a complete hack job of it. Now good thing abotu anime is when they mix technology and old fashion way of drawing. It's good CG when I can't tell that it is CG or when it fits in nicely with the anime itself. Examples of this are WHR, Fruits Basket and especially Utena the Movie. I didn't even know that whole dance scene was not done by hand. That is how good that was to me.

XD SM's dubbing went HORRIBLE when they suddenly decided to recast everyone.
But I agree with teh main point... Dubbing for anime is Horrible. I was okay with it back in the day (akira and VampHunterD, etc) But very rare anime have good dubbing nowadays. It makes me wonder which street they're picking these guys up on.
Good side to anime, for me anyway.. Is that I've only seen good anime made after or before videogames. Fact, I think anime and games pair up very nicely... Sure, I've seen cartoons made into games and games made into american cartoons (no.. wait.. have I? I dunno).. but it just isn't as done as I've seen anime and games made simotaniously.

games made into cartoons...sonic the hedgehog, mario brothers, captain N, megaman, street fighter...probably forgetting some...
good thing is in anime, that it has real variety...I don't know why they mainly create animation here with such a narrow focus on children's entertainment only when you can literally draw anything at all.
hmm, something bad...its rather expensive a hobby to buy much anime and related goodies...it can drain your funds quickly...
