Title: Addictions lost in time
Description: Games that seem impossible to find...

Chibi Chichiri - February 12, 2004 06:57 AM (GMT)
You know what I'm talking about... You go out and rent a game or borrow one from a friend to find out if it's any good and get hooked. But when you finally get around to buying the game, it's practically non-existant.

The games that got away from me:

Xenogears. The first time I played, I found it rather odd... Of course, I played Final Fantasy games, so Xenogears took some getting used to. It was a unique style of playing and had me frustrated a few times. Game locating status: I can't seem to find it anywhere now...

Star Ocean 2. My gods... This game kicked so much ass!!! I probably stood a chance of possibly beating it if my evil brothers didn't screw up my friend's disc... Game locating status: I have been searching for this game for years, and saw it once. ...When I had no money...

Tales of Destiny. I always found the part about talking swords with attitudes somewhat bizarre... This game had so many twists and turns thrown in, I swear you never really knew who was on your side. Game locating status: I don't think I've ever seen this game in a store...

What games do you wish you could find all over again?

Valkyrie Profile was very tough to find, but it was worth the trouble I went through to get my hands on a copy.

Symphony of the Night's getting hard to get a hold of. You guys should go and pick it up before it becomes even rarer. Easily, it's one of the greatest games for the PS1.

I've been looking for a game called "Blazing Dragons" I don't think that it's a rare title, but it is ingenious. I suggest this game very much, for it is hilarious.

HAHA I've been buying the games I traded in way back when.. for double the price =/

I had Xenogears, but I made the mistake of selling it to a friend of mine...now...I cant find it anywhere...I swear, I'd kill to get a copy of that game agian.

All those games are easy to find around me... plus, I have had good luck buying used off of Amazon.com...

That being said, I haven't had trouble finding anything, really...

The only time I had to store hop was to find Pocky and ROcky & Rebecca for GBA... but I found it gamestop on try #3.

XD curse you, Issue...

But yeah, ValkyrieProfile was a Good HaveToGet anime. It took me 3 years to successfully find and buy a copy - cause I always saw it, went to get my cash, and it wasn't there when I came back XP.

Though it's not hard to find for GBA, BreathOfFire2 was impossible to find back in the days of the SNES. I searched everywhere and ordered it from a buncha places (though it took forever to come in) til I finally just talked the guys into Blockbuster to let me buy it. XP but then it showed up everywhere cause of my ordering. Aw well, good game.

ToD - While I can find Tales Of Destiny1 in a few locations, I suggest that you look for ToD2. It is SO much cooler in it's own ways. Fun to play and play again. XD but it's also very hard to find...

From what I can tell, All Enix games (pre Square) are really hard to find.. but I happen to like them all over all Square games XD

Haven't been looking for any games recently, so I can't give any imput for right now.

havnt been that many games i couldnt get my hands on now i see... and now even less since 2 Eb Games stores are in town... either that or i could ask the owners to order it home... dman i love living in my country.... could also just order it over net... in my country... he he

but one game i cant get my hands on is

One Must FAll 2097.... i have OMF BG (battlegrounds) but its not the same... OMF 2097 was far better then mortal combat... heck it was the fatehr of games as MK. and all teh rest... first combat game you acculy could move freely and not stuck by any movements teh enemy also could. and there were so many tobots to chose from you could upgrade your mech... arch i love that game.....
anyone that has it are welcome in my home... AS LONG AS YOU BRING OMF 2097.. :D kidding but i would kill to get that game...

I guess I have been pretty lucky in finding everything I ever look for, but I aslo dont buy games frequently. Wild Arms 1 is kinda hard to find, and was a rarity even when I accidentally ran into it many many years ago, but that didnt stop me from finding another copy and pressuring a friend to buy it.
Seriously, for everyone who lacks a XenoGears, try EVERYTHING to find it. I have lent mine out several times, and several isnt enough to spread the love. Its sooo great. Its like XenoSaga, only with worse graphics, and a MUCH better plot. And MUCH better in every other way. And is just all around awsome.
Though, I would like to find a copy of Crystalis (NES) that works. Ive got a copy, but it doenst work so well...

Symphony of the Night.

I never see it in stores, and the very rare times I DO see it, I don't have the 40 dollars to spend on it. Harmony of Dissonence is becoming just as hard to find.

Another good one is the second Kirby game for Gameboy (yes I still play old gameboy games, heh)
