Right O, so I have always been a big fan of the FFTactics genra of games (Havent played FFT Advanced cause my brother stole it [seriously..] AND I lost my GBA...) And I had been looking for a new game with that type of battle system for the PS 1 or PS 2. And then it showed up. Like a beacon from the sky. DISGAEA. I first saw the advertisment in Game Informer, and from just four screen shots I knew it MUST be MINE! Fast forward a few weeks, and to say that I was addicted would be an understatement. I beat the game after about 80 hours of gameplay, having taken my good sweet time and doing all the little side quests. However, as if reading my mind for what I love about games, this blessing in the skin of a game opened its sky to reveal a whole new world. I have now spent 130 hours in the game, and Im still not done. Ive always resented how you get to you peak of power in a game, and then your done. In Disgaea, I beat the game at level 90. The side quests begin with level 80 characters fighting you, and in the span of three stages, you are fighting level 200 characters. I am currently level 550, and have completed almost evertying there is to complete. The funny thing though is: you are'nt supposed to be able to beat even the first quest out of like, 5 major ones, until you're at least level 1000. Ive even killed the level 5000 uber boss. (though I have yet to kill the uber-uber level 7000 boss...). That is some TOP quality trickery. Level 550 characters killing guys many many times their own level. W00t! Anway, Id strongly advise discarding you'r personal life to play this game. I know people who have spent over a thousand hours on this game, and are happy for having done so. And if anyone has any questions on some hard core stratigery, feel free to ask!

I got this game for Christmas, and have barely started, with classes keeping me so busy and all...any tips for a newbie starting out?

oh, it you like these kind of tactics like games, I played one recently you might enjoy called Saiyuki: Journey West. Its the same type but its got kind of a more chinese and indian flavor intead of medieval fantasy. And you can pick the gender of the main character and it changes the story slightly. Its a nice game that seems to get overlooked...
