Title: Invincible Sake Shop

Lewis Daggart - March 18, 2004 08:16 PM (GMT)
Your typical seedy bar, with its share of interesting characters. Mysterious strangers, sleezy outlaws, or just your everyday joe- here, anyone can find solice in the bottom of a bottle.

Lewis Daggart - March 18, 2004 08:19 PM (GMT)
Okesa walked into the bar and slid himself onto a stool.

"Does someone work here, or do I have to serve myself?" he asked, annoyed.

KrazyKelli - March 18, 2004 08:31 PM (GMT)
Slowly, without hesitation, a man in tan and black robes with a travelers cloak over that of the same coloration stood and paced patiently towards the bar. Stepping around the large raised plank of wood, this mysterious one placed out a gloved hand to grasp a glass. His brows forrowed momentarily, until finally he also retrieved a cloth to, promply, clean the glass with. "What would you like" his groutty voice persued.

Zatsu kept a rather serious face, though inside he was greatly pleased in seeing this specific individual face to face. It was almost as if getting to see a storybook character for the first time to conclude that that were, infact, real after all.

And yes, he knew from previous quanderings in this dreary wellplaced sakeshop that the owner and any his workers were out. Henseforth why he took action. It seemed this Okesa Gingitsune was going to loose himself soon if someone didn't. And that seriously wasn't up to par with what has been written so far. However, even Zatsu knew, a man can only take so much before he looses his hat.

Lewis Daggart - March 18, 2004 08:35 PM (GMT)
Okesa sighed when the man responded, realizing just how rediculous he was being. not for the first time though, Okesa had to wonder how Reiji managed to stay in business.

"Ah, I'll just have a sake. Thank you..."

KrazyKelli - March 18, 2004 08:42 PM (GMT)
He opened his mouth, but closed it tightly afterwards. Would have asked if he wanted a large or small bottle, but there was really no need to. The answer was obvious on the man's face. Placing the glass down, Zatsu reached behind him and retreived in a most unexpected manner a small bottle. There seemed to be a large supply of them, he realized. Many people in this town did, as he was told, overdrink. Placing the small bottle down beside okesa, this human that reaked of ink and scroll retrieved a smaller saucer as well - putting that beside the sake. Soon afterwards the larger glass was returned to a safer place beneath the bar.

"Need not become an alcohalic now, Okesa." Kakite Zatsu added to this conversation with a more than harmless smile.

Lewis Daggart - March 18, 2004 09:01 PM (GMT)
Okesa looked at the man questioningly, but let it pass.

"Normally, I'd be rather curious how you know me when I've been in hiding. Today though, I'll simply pretend you heard my proclimation outside."

Okesa studied the bottle for a moment. Then, ignoring the saucer, he downed half the bottle in one swig.

"Here," he said, pulling out a handfull of hte coins he'd recieved from his benifactor and placing them on the counter.

"You may not have a job here, but I'll be damned if I let you work for free."

KrazyKelli - March 18, 2004 09:15 PM (GMT)
Placing out his large gloved hand (gloved in light cowhide, btw.. like his pouches) the man took the yen without a complaint or giving a reason why he shouldn't. After all, a man needs to eat.

Slipping the currency into the pouch containing his pen and inkbottle, Zatsu returned his soft gaze to Okesa. It came to times to likes when he could say many things to trademark his pesonality. State the obvious? No, that has been overdone. A comment over Okesa would be far more preferable. But it would have to be something that would not scare him away or force the bard to think badly of Kakite Z.

He took a deep breath. Held it. Then breathed out a sigh. "Now that everyone in the remote area of this bar knows who you are, nothing stops you from playing your music." The large hand, now free of the pouch and yen, gestured to the area of drunkards and other depressed folk, "It would liven the mood at least."

Lewis Daggart - March 18, 2004 09:21 PM (GMT)
Okesa smiled at that. He reached for the flute..

And stopped.

"Not today. This things caused me more than enough trouble for now. Besides,"

and the bard finished emptying his drink,

"Its hard to drink and play at the same time."

Okesa almost looked like he was trying to get drunk, but there was a harder look in his eyes. One that, if someone were to look closely, showed that behind the drinking, the bard was actually deep in thought. infact, for someone that had a reputation as a light weight, the alcohol didnt seem to be affecting him at all.

KrazyKelli - March 18, 2004 09:32 PM (GMT)
Hmmm... This complicates matters.. Was only a small clip of Zat's thoughts. But enough to state the current look on his face of hard thoughts and turmoil.

Watching Oke and his squanderings, he retrieved that previously cleaned glass, filled it with water, and set it beside that bard. Just to make sure he doesn't completely overdo it.

There was a moment where Zatsu considered walking around the bar and sitting next to Okesa. This thought only persisted due to the ache in the mysterious travelers' feet. But he shook it off. He could stand this small bit of pain if it meant he could spend more time in this conversation with the man across the bar without scaring him off.

His fingers jerked slightly, almost like a samurai ready to draw his sword. Except it was more due to the fact that Zatsu had a great idea that he just Had to write down. But.. No. not yet, he needed to keep the conversation going.

Simply said, "Bad times? Feel free to talk, I'm not going anywhere."

Lewis Daggart - March 18, 2004 09:43 PM (GMT)
"Well, you certainly have this bartender bit down pat,"

The man wanted something, Okesa knew. He wasn't sure what, and he wasn't even sure that it was harmful. But the mans manurisms, his subdle directing of the conversation, the small sake bottle, the glass of water. Everything pointed to him keeping Okesa sober enough to extract information from.

He's good, I'll give him that.

But Okesa didn't really have a problem with giving the man what he wanted.

"Bad times... you could say that. I'm bound to a town that hates me by a promise I made to a lady I'm pretty sure hates me too.

Okesa thought back to the last time he saw Obsidian. he shook his head.

"..not that I can blame her. Of course, this town didn't always hate me. They started hating me after I rescued a different lady, who now also hates me, from certain death at the hands of a man who hates me."

Okesa stopped, and glanced up at the man, nonchallantly.

"I'd ask if I was going too fast for you if I wasn't already certain you know all of this already, and in far greater detail than I've given."

KrazyKelli - March 18, 2004 10:00 PM (GMT)
Now this was a curve in the present story where Zatsu could at any given moment tell the bard everything he truthfully did know about Okesa Gingitsune. The Yakuza, a few other unkempt details of his past. Supposed knowledge over how Oke was weak concerning too much alcohal. Not to mention a handful of other important things even Okesa probably didn't know about himself.

But to not scare the bard off, he told a halftruth, "I only know you as much as what you told me and part of the town just outside earlier, your wanted poster details, and a handful of gossip." Retrieving the cloth again with a second glass, he began to clean that as well for his own benifit. "such as your attempts to assist a wanted criminal and your unsuccessful attempts to attack a high statured general."

Thus on he retrieved some weak vintage of wyne; brushing the dust off the bottle and pouring himself a glass; Zatsu shrugged it off, "You're wellknown, it seems. And this popularity looks to have caused you grand turmoil"

Lewis Daggart - March 18, 2004 10:10 PM (GMT)
Okesa cringed at the Moritsune refference.

"Well known.. but hardly popular. You want to know about me? Alright,"

"I'm an entertainer. There's little I enjoy more than watching people smile. But I also have a knack for finding trouble, so I like to be on the move. And i never let more than one or two select people become close to me."

Okesa sighed. "I grew up here. Maybe it's the nastalgia, but I broke that rule. The last time I broke that rule and cared about someone, he almost died, and the yakuza chased me out of town. Over a decade later, I make that mistake again, only this time I can't leave. it's not the popularity that's giving me problems. It's my own stupidity."

Okesa looked distastfully at the water before taking a large drink.

KrazyKelli - March 18, 2004 10:19 PM (GMT)
Instinctively, the mysterious traveller wanted to give advice, such as something along the lines of how okesa shouldn't be so hard on himself and that people make dumb mistakes through life cause they're human. But that wasn't the roll Zatsu wished to make. Also, he did not want to change Okesa's personality any. It may taint the fantastic plan he had for a future plot in the novel. So things had to work their own ways out.

Taking a sip of the wine, Zatsu smiled and spoke something that was true down to it's heart, "One of the reasons I came to this town was to listen to your music and hear it with my own ears." Stirring the wine, he made a grand wellplaced pause until finishing his end of this post, "People I have passed told me it was wonderful. So when you're in a better mood and learn to circumvent your supposed stupidity, I would like to hear you play from the bottom of your soul"

Lewis Daggart - March 18, 2004 10:26 PM (GMT)
"Perhaps, when I next play, you'll be around to hear it. Give me a couple days. Assuming I'm still alive, I'm certain to be in better humour then."

There was something about the man that really bothered Okesa. Nothing he could pinpoint exactly. It could easily have something to do with Okesa's current state of paranoia, and the bard couldnt tell if the man struck him as possibly dangerous, or mildly annoying. Perhaps that was what bothered him.. the fact that he couldn't tell anything about the man at all.

Yes, thats it.. like Zaiko, I can see him, I can speak to him.. but it doesnt quite add up. This personality is a carefully applied mask he hides his true self under.

Of course, Okesa of all people knew that having something to hide didn't necessarily make you dangerous. So, he'd give the man a chance.

KrazyKelli - March 18, 2004 10:38 PM (GMT)
Zatsu grinned, almost like a child just learned that out of all his efforts he gets to go to the fair afterall. It deceived his age a bit, but not to a scary point. "Great, it's settled then. In a few days."

Now why Zatsu was suddenly this way was due to the fact of that he learned today that not only was there an actual Okesa Gingitsune like he's written about. But the sheer excitement of being able to hear his human is overwhelming. Added on is the possisibility that everyone else in his novel are going to still be alive in this town. Sheer Joy!

Attempting to calm down, the man took a long drink of the wine. It went down smoothy and the burn was very limited since it was such a weak wine. A handful more moments before he regained his composure and shed off the excitement. Now that he met the bard, he didn't want the bard to think too badly of him after all.

Placing out a hand, Zatsu introduced himself, "My name is Kakite Zatsu. Friends call me Zatsu, You may call me Zatsu. I am a writer, a novelist"

Lewis Daggart - March 18, 2004 10:48 PM (GMT)
"Really? How interesting."

The idea intrigued Okesa. Their 'profession's' were similer after all, whether writing books or writing music.

The difference being, a wandering bard could get by on the charity of the places he visits. It was nothing to be ashamed of.. simply the cost of doing business.

For a man to be a writer though, he probably had a wealthy patron paying his way. That, or an inheritance.

"I'd be careful in this area. People find out you're a writer, and you're liable to be the target of muggings."

KrazyKelli - March 18, 2004 10:58 PM (GMT)
The sudden thought of getting mugged hit Zatsu like a brick in the face. Though he still continued to shake Oke's hand. His grip being genuine. "I was told that only the scrawny and the women were mugged and vandilized around this area of japan." Finally, he let go of the bard's hand and gestured to his clothing, "It's why I chose such rough travellers clothing."

Thought about it. Now that this topic was brought up, Zatsu did see many with swords in the area. But he considered them all samurai and - as much as he knew - samurai didn't mug people. How odd.. "Perhaps I should buy myself a weapon, such as a sword, to ward off those who find me as game. Or at least make them think twice." Grasping the glass firmly, he finished his wine and watched the other people in the room with a more hard tougher sense as if they were all plotting to attack him in the future. But shrugged it off, they looked to drunk to be a problem. Turned back to Okesa,"Any weapons fierce enough that you could suggest? "

Lewis Daggart - March 18, 2004 11:06 PM (GMT)
Okesa tried not to laugh at his nievete.

"Don't take a weapon unless you truely know how to use it, thats my first suggestion. Also, I wouldnt carry a katana. You'd be hard pressed to find someone to sell one to you anyway, and the samurai might be offended. But really, the unsavory types around here don't care about your station.. just about the money you cary and if they can take you. And the yakuza are more active than usual. If they demand tribute.. well, you can decide what to do at that point. Your safest bet is to simply stay nondescript. As long as you stay out of trouble, you'll be fine."

Unless of course, you run into Ame..

KrazyKelli - March 18, 2004 11:18 PM (GMT)
"Ah, non-descriptness is what I am good at. Staying out of trouble is what a writer does. After all, If I'm going to find myself running from twenty samurai all weilding sharp swords as they cry out something about how I offended their mother, I, well.. Wont be able to find time to write about it in the process." Nods to himself before taking the empty sakebottle, trashing it, putting the glass on a dirtydish rack, and placing the still clean saucer back under the bar.

Soon afterwards he went about cleaning off the dirty barcounter.

Unabaited in this present physically dirty work, he let the words come out like just another innocent question.. "Say. Do you know a child named Akisu? I heard he was in Edo as well and, well, since you both have bounties in the area.. I thought you might know him..."

Lewis Daggart - March 18, 2004 11:53 PM (GMT)
"Akisu.. Yes, i know him. Quite frankly, I wouldnt go anywhere near him with money in your pockets."

Okesa suddenly had the idea that this guy wasnt nearly as good at staying out of trouble as he thought he was.

KrazyKelli - March 19, 2004 12:02 AM (GMT)
"Okay.. Good.." he replied... Slowed his rough cleaning and added on, "I had to make sure it was true what I heard about the AxeTheifAkisu. Sometimes information of a person can be wrong, I've learned... Sometimes a horrible theif or coldstone samurai can turn out to be misunderstood, nice people."

He took a handful of moments to make sure the bar was completely clean. Putting the filthy rag back under the bar, the man walked around it - his sandles clacking hard on the wood floor under his healthy weight. Now without a bar between the two of them, Zatsu gave a small bow to Okesa, "Thank you for the conversation. You've helped me in more than one way. I hope to see you in a few days to hear your fantastic music." Standing back straight, he turned and paced towards the doorway. Though gives Okesa plenty of time to stop him if needed.

Lewis Daggart - March 19, 2004 12:07 AM (GMT)
Okesa bowed toward the man as he left, though the bard still wasnt feeling quite extravegent enough to stand up.

"I'm glad I could help," he replied easily.

That was.. different. Well, I hope he finds what he's looking for here.

Okesa took another drink out of his now empty cup. He didn't care.. infact he took a third sip for good measure.

KrazyKelli - March 19, 2004 12:10 AM (GMT)
Zatsu took his damn time getting to the door.. hesitating every once in a while to hope that the bard stops him.. or to maybe say in the moment that he was in the same room as Okesa... But, sadly enough, Oke didn't stop him. Once at the door, he sighed, hung his head, and stepped out.

Reiji Azuma - March 24, 2004 04:32 AM (GMT)
*Kokyou walks in to the sakeshop and sheaths the katana. Noticing that the writer had not arrived yet he proceded to restock his personal travel pack of sake as his liver directed him to. Ein had only recovered from the shock just as Kokyou sat down and immediately she let go of his arm*

E: "WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT!?"
K: "Keeping the civilian death count down while doing it in style"
*ein gets a pissed off look on her face*
E: "BAKA!" *she then procedes to pummel him in the head (chibi style pummeling of course(aka super rapid fire)) as he goes on drinking casually. Eventually she tires out and sits down and starts drinking herself.*

*minutes later*

K: "It could have been worse. I could have left you to deal with the civilians and the popos when they showed up." (ooc: wait they didn't use the term 'popo' back in the 1830's did they...err..just forget i said that and pretend i used samurai >_>)

*Ein gets that pissed off look again and procedes to pummel him again. Of course Kokyou goes on with his business as if nothing was going on yet again.*

KrazyKelli - March 24, 2004 04:58 AM (GMT)
In Zatsu steps a short time later. Taking his place at the bar with raised eyebrows and a mildly intrigued look as Ein beats on the strong and mightily evil Ko.

After settling a bit (since running in a cloak this thick wears it out of you), he said, "While I know it's a custom to drink sake here, do you have any white wine or a weak vintage of wine?" He slowly flipped open the pouches on his sash and removed a book, a quill pen, and a bottle of ink. Placed the items down, opened the ink bottle, and went to the back of the book where notes were apparent. "An author cannot write when drunk, you see."

Reiji Azuma - March 24, 2004 05:11 AM (GMT)
hmm I do have some imported wine in the back
*Kokyou gets up seemingly unphased and walks to the back room and closes the door behind him, leaving an upset, confused, and huffing Ein at the table. Seconds later Kokyou can be heard cursing up a storm then silence. Ein's face gets a satisfyed look on her face and she sits back down and gets to drinking again. After a minute or so of his dissapearance and 40 seconds after the cursing string, Kokyou comes out of the room with a bottle with french wording all over the lable and sets it down in front of the writer*

"between the 2 of us that bottle doesn't exist if you catch my drift."
*he goes back to his seat and sits down rubbing his head and resumes drinking*
"Those stupid Chinese, opening their ports to the Westerners...Next thing they know they'll be conquered..."

KrazyKelli - March 24, 2004 05:39 AM (GMT)
"I can only hope so" he returned as he took the wine and opened it. Wondered if he should ask for a glass, but after that audio display of Ko's in back, he wasn't going to bother. Uncorked the bottle and took a sip. While the wine didn't taste that good, he didnt' complain.

Now wether his last comment was towards the fact that he was the only one actually getting imported wine here, Or about the chinese being conqured, that is left up in the air.

Inking the quill, he let it hover over the bottle. "So, Kokyou was it?" He writes down his name for better reference, Scratching out Izuma next to what appeared to be Reiji and Hiro and writing in the correct last name (now how did he get that mixup?). "Tell me about yourself. Do you still have an interest in blowing up Edo? "

Reiji Azuma - March 24, 2004 05:46 AM (GMT)
*he paused as if something just struck him, then he remembered when 'it' happened*
Currently I don't have any plans on destroying the place. Don't get me wrong. I still like kyoto and all but for now I'm just trying to fix up loose ends that have appeared while I came here.
*his head begins throbbing and he gets up and starts looking for something cold*
For instance...*now checking under the bar*...there's the whole business of my samurai clan getting wiped out that remains unsettled.

KrazyKelli - March 24, 2004 05:54 AM (GMT)
The thoughts of Reiji no longer setting explosives in town came like a lead weight to the pit of Zat's stomach. He gave a look of disappointment while writing this unpleasent news down in fast handywork. This was until Reiji brought up the clan.

"Hebbi, correct? How many stories I've heard about that clan. Even over a fight that was supposed to happen between the Hebbi and Ryu. That... Unexpectedly never happened."

He moved his pen in a circular motion, looked at the wine. And decided another sip wouldn't hurt. Placing pen in inkpot, he grasped the bottle and took another sip without wince (since it isn't strong). Looked back to Ko, "Moritsune Ubushingai destroyed the clan, correct? Tell me. What are your thoughts and feelings towards that man"

Reiji Azuma - March 24, 2004 06:07 AM (GMT)
He has commited an unforgivable crime and will not go much longer unpunished. *still searching under the bar* But what is more unforgivable...*he stands upright looking disgruntled*...is what was done with the bodies of the fallen. *begins looking around* He turned them into Uber-zombies and attacked myself and the other 2 survivors. Hold that thought.
*walks out the back exit and the sound of the water pump is heard seconds later. Kokyou returns with a damp head dripping cold water*

ahh...much better *glares at Ein who retorts with sticking her tounge out*

now where was I? ah yes the survivors: Hayate-kun and Anzai-sensei. Since then I haven't seen either. We split up drawing the attention of the uber-zombies to different areas and I barely survived with my life. *takes a large swig and returns to his seat where he has plenty of bottles ready for him*

KrazyKelli - March 24, 2004 06:20 AM (GMT)
"uber-zombies?" Zatsu let this word swirl in his mind. He knew most definately that zombies didn't exist - that they were only a figment in storybooks (a few of which he's probably written. Perhaps this was a short term for something else. Drugs perhaps? Opium has known to have an undesireable effect on a percentage when taken too much.

He pushes aside the thoughts on uber-zombies, anzai, and ein once Hayate is mentioned. "Ah, Hayate Ubushingai. I have yet to talk with him. I hope he hasn't died inbetween the last time you've seen him and now. I heard he was a nice depressive lad."

He gripped his hand into a clentched fist. His voice and expression get dead serious, "A boy clentched within the past of a horrid general of a father out to kill him because he was a supposed accident. It being his Only Mission in Life. Distrust and Depression Are His Only Friends!!!"

The room becomes quiet aside from the bickering of candleflames. Zatsu calms down, jots a note in his book after retieving pen and placing bottle back down, and gestures towards Ko, "correct? I've only heard so much." He gave a small space inbetween his fingers before going on,

"Eitherway, I've been wondering if there is a way to stop Ubushingai Sr. Just out of hobby, mind you. Because I couldn't care less if he was stopped or took over town demolishing every criminal and samurai in it and enslaving the rest. It isn't my town."

Reiji Azuma - March 24, 2004 06:32 AM (GMT)
*Kokyou and Ein both were stunned at the sound that Mori was planning on causing that much destruction*

I was wondering why he didn't commit harikari...Its starting to make sense now. But the real question is if he has survived or not. Knowing him he has already bumped into Mori. Well as a samurai and criminal i should do something...*Ein hearing that gives a concerned look at him, Kokyou ignores it* I wonder if Anzai-sensei would know anything...but then again he's gone missing...Damnit! *he slams his fist into the table*

*glancing over to ein* "We can't go back to Kyoto yet...We still have business here....especially with my cousin and Aki running around...not to mention i owe that russian one..."

*back at the writer* "Know anything about Akisu or a Mugatou?"

KrazyKelli - March 24, 2004 06:47 AM (GMT)
tapping some access ink back into the inkjar after redipping, Zatsu looked up to Reiji. "I have yet to meet Mugatou, but I do know he's famous for being under Ubushingai's shadow. Recently, though. I've heard nothing" He gave a shrug, wrote some added stuff down about surprise and circumstance (though his writing is fast and hard to read upsidown from Ko's point of view). "Akisu I've met. He's changed about as much as you. Sporting swords instead of a halbred. Cleaner clothing. I heard he works under Moritsune now as well"

Openly, he wondered if he should be telling Ko all of this. But deep down in the dark depths of Zatsu's thoughts he was grinning with grand convenience.

Back to the surface, Kakite kept a straight face. He placed down the pen to take another sip of the wine. Now that he'd had a few mouthfuls of the stuff, it didn't taste as bad. Luckily as well, he wasn't drunk. Looking at the wine, Zatsu reached into his smaller pouch, withdrew the yen that Okesa had previously paid him for bartending this specific bar, and splayed it out on the counter. Saying in his groutted voice, "That's for the wine and to make sure those around know that I 'paid you back' for a previous tab I supposedly had." he refered with a nod towards the door about what happened on TheStreets of Edokyo.

But stayed where he was, didn't make a move to go anywhere.

Reiji Azuma - March 24, 2004 06:58 AM (GMT)
Damn....when did things get this out of control! I should have killed that purple haired fool a long time ago with those bombs! *reaches for a new bottle and is suprised by cloth stuck in the mouth...in fact that isn't the only one. While he was listening to the info about Aki and muga, he had made 3 molotovs without realizing it.

*stashing the 3 away he gets a bottle of sake out and begins drinking it while trying to calm his nerves*

What about Amethist and her motley crew? Obsidian, Okessa and the rest? they're not all dead are they?

KrazyKelli - March 24, 2004 07:10 AM (GMT)
Raising eyebrows in uninterested thought in this, Zatsu told the truth. "I've met and talked with Okesa. Though I'm still seeking out the whereabouts of Obsidian. Whom you call Amethyst? I heard recently through gossip of bountyhunters that she's dropped from site. If she's dead or not I'm yet to know."

He didnt' seem very interested in Amethyst for one reason or another. Or maybe this was just another believible act he put on.

Either way, continued, pointing pen at Ko and his molotovs with a bit of entertainment towards their making. "Okesa Gingitsune is having a bit of a hard time right now due to the recent affairs. And I thought you were done with explosives.."

He gave a pause, a sigh, another pause, and gave his advice, "If you want to stop Ubushingai Sr. and avenge what damage has been done, I suggest you find Okesa, Obsidian, and Hayate before they get themselves killed."

Reiji Azuma - March 24, 2004 07:21 AM (GMT)
"I just said i was done with blowing everything up...molotovs can be very useful in battle...Damn...Ein go find them and bring them here..."

E: "Demo...Kokyou-sama..."

*Kokyou slams his fist into the breaking point on the table and it crumbles into pieces and looks at Ein with the murderous eyes*

"Go..." *she is stunned for a moment with a look of sheer terror before getting up and walking towards the door and looking back at the door to see that his eyes followed her. She ran out after that*

*running his hands through his hair Kokyou regains his composure and regular expression*

"So is there anything else to know?" he asked as he started to drink again ignoring the rubble that used to be the table

KrazyKelli - March 24, 2004 07:34 AM (GMT)
Zatsu, looking beyond the bar and therefore only hearing the table crash to pieces - not to mention all the yelling and what murmurs came around the room from random npc's still brave enough to be there-, slowly closed the book he was writing in once certain the ink had dried, cleaned off his inkpen with a random cloth sitting on the bar next to him, capped the inkbottle. and placed the items away. Out now was just the wine. "At the moment, no." he only said this answer because Ko seemed out of specific question. Wasn't going to babble on about random things, after all. The man had an agenda to follow.

Standing slowly, Zatsu yelled out in sheer terror at the table and Ko near it, "Great Buddah! He's Going To Kill Us All!" which, in response, causes panic of those sitll in the bar (getting them to leave). Once certain there is noone left sitting in the corners of the bar who would overhear him (this is not including Okesa if he's still around, Zat would've overlooked him). , Kakite paced over towards the pyromaniac and - close enough so as not to be heard through, say, a window - he muttered, "If I find anything concerning MoritUru Sr. that would seem important for you." He coughed, "I mean, if you ask the right questions later with the right amount of yen, You'll find out what you need to know..."

Leaning away from the madman, he paced with diliberate slowness to the exit.

Reiji Azuma - March 24, 2004 07:44 AM (GMT)
*sitting there still casually drinking*
Don't worry I'll contact you when the time comes.
*gets up and caps the bottle and walks towards his back room, stopping near the door he turns back with the murderous eyes again*
"I am Kokyou the seeker of power. The only one who is going to destroy this city is me, and just because i decided to spare it doesn't mean someone else can..."
*as he was saying all that a draft was blowing his clothes and hair for dramatic effect*
"...I'll have to get that fixed when I get done with Mori..."

*the night of the theft*
Kokyou (with a sly look on his face): a monopoly on sake....how delightful!

Ein: Ano...Kokyou-sama...what is the point of stealing all the sake?

Kokyou: well if i'm the only one selling it then all the people will come to me and only me with the money and the profits will go through the roof...Now i could charge a higher price but that would only give suspicion...especially if it is going to look like a crime spree.

Ein: so how are you going to avoid looking like the culprit?

Kokyou: well thats what the uberly large basement is for. You see we will not only store the stolen sake there but we will store small bits of our own sake there every night or so. That way it looks like we are getting hit up ourselves.

Ein: but what is the point of getting all that money? and how are you still going to make money if our supply is going to be decreased at the same time?

Kokyou: well I'll have to say that I'm relying on the shipments to keep on comming in. The actual shipments will be disguised as normal sized ones so people think i'm still getting full shipment while in reality i'm only getting half the usual shipment and relying on the other half from the basement. now as for the money's purpose...That involves part 2 of the plan to conquer Moritsune. I will go back to Kyoto under the guise of talking to the distributer, but in reality I will be going back to the Black Market to settle an old score with the clan.

Ein (interrupting him): No you can't go back there. Its way too dangerous!

Kokyou: Look they split me up because i was too powerful. I will go back there and place it under new management and will bring my new ninjitsu army here and will take the fortress by storm!...Nobody backstabs me and gets away with it....now lets get to hiding this sake and the entrance to the basement!

*they begin the semi-evil plot that night and soon afterwards word gets around that even he is getting hit up....but not soon enough for the confrontation that awated him from the man who wanted to get on ame's good side*
