I saw these screenshots and movie and.. well, it's incredible. They're bringing the game back to its roots with this. Not much else I can say really.. the screenshots speak for themselves.

Have you ever played any Zelda games pre-Ocarina? Being realistic is not taking Zelda back to its 'roots' at all...
Having said that, I personally prefer the more realitsic Zelda appearance but that's just personal preference and regardless of how the game looks, it'd still be great; guaranteed.
These screen-shots are particularly nice. I've known that Nintendo intende to make a realistic version all along though. Wind Waker was going to be realistic but then they changed that and went cell shaded, but since there was a big outcry over this, they said they'd make a realistic Zelda game following the Wind Waker. So, old news with new pics. Nice find. :D

I've played the pre-ocarina games yes. Even with less realistic graphics, they didn't have the super cartoony feel of post ocarina games. I loved windwaker by the way. Its just that the newer gameboy games and windwaker all had this.. different feel to it. From seeing the new screenshots, I get the impression that they're going to turn the game back towards the older feel. I loved windwaker, and its graphics. To me, it just felt like it was missing something. Besides, a return to Hyrule after the past couple gameboy games and windwaker would be a definate return to its roots. :D
As for old news with the pics.. everything I'd heard of was talking about Windwaker 2. The first thing I head about them thinking about a realistic zelda again was after it was revealed at E3. Guess I'm just not in the loop, heh.

God I hate you, DemonBonham. Why can't you just like somethign for a god damned change. Hahahaha. Just kidding.
I loved Windwaker. The only thing that would have made it any cooler is to have the second quest feature more than a new costume and an opportunity to collect more pictographs.
The new game looks cool, but this isn't "roots" at all. Not gonna stop me from playing it, though. The key thing in a game is gameplay. Story is a huge part as well, but if the story is cool and the gameplay sucks, who wants to play it? Perfect example is Gunvalkyrie for Xbox. It looked good, the story was cool, but the play blew.
Soo... hooray for new zelda.

Oh well. I say its roots, and I can smite your a... er.. I mean.. ^^;
Heh, all this talk about windwaker makes me suddenly want to play it again. The Phantom Ganon battles especially, while they wre incredibly easy, carried an aura of awesome about them.
Windwaker had an awesome soundtrack, but at times it suffered from rather fake sounding samples. I hope they finally get Koji Kondo some really good samples for his music.

I'm really hoping this story for the game is as good as the critics say it is. Cause Link is one of the legendary icons of the video game world lol
