Title: The Chronicles of Riddick

Anybody else heard about this movie? I only axidently saw it on a yahoo movie banner, but it looks pretty cool, and it has the guy from Tripple X in it. It looks like a future sci-fi movie, where this empire is taking over the universe and they have to get this guy to beat 'em up or somethin. I saw an x-box game for it already on pre-order (not sure about other consols). I think that games of movies is getting a little out of hand, like most are even out before the movies (ie, the lotr series), but awell, maybe that could even be a whole nother topic (wink wink :P ).

I ahve been waiting for this movie for like 4 years. It is the second part of a trilogy. Remeber that movie "Pitch Black" that Vin Desil was also in? The one where his name was Riddik? Yeah.. this is the next part of that. The game that is coming out is a prequel to the first movie (Pich Black). It will only be on xbox as no other system can handle the graphics.
And I am totaly stoked.. 11 June it hits theatres.

Pitch Black? I thought that sounded familiar... I didn't actually see that name with it untill I saw it again on another banner. What's Pitch Black, though? I don't remember a movie like that with Vin Desil in it. :/

It is a movie that a lot of people said was a copy of "Alien." Peopel stranded on a planet infested with blod thirsty alien things.. fighting for survival and stuff. Good action flick. Check it out.
Vin is my freakin hero... the game that is coming out was produced by his company. He loves gaming and plays D&D. His favorite character is a half drow witch hunter. Yeah.. he own.

I look at this movie and think... "Riddik is acting all cool and badass in this one he is all like 'i am the monster' but in Pitch Black he is all cool." Pitch Black is probably still gonna be better then Chronicles

He was all about being the monster in Pitch Balck as well. He questioned his own redemption and even ended up accepting that he was not a good human as he left the main female to die... c'mon, man. THINK!

Yeah, Chronicals was awesome. I saw it twice. LOL. They adressed the main badguy as a 'holy undead' LOL. How can that be?
Issue13 - June 21, 2004 05:01 AM (GMT)
Holy Undead.... see, this is just liek this argument that I always used ot get in with my old DM. He was like, "The only allignment that can perform necromancy is Evil... but there is no school of magic that that only Good can perform." But here is my thing... resurecting anyone is necromancy. even if it is bringing someone back to life. So if a good alligned person resurects something, then it is a holy undead. Yeah.... that's it... yeah....

yeah, but he definatly wasn't good.

OK, just saw this film and I must say that is was very good. I mean, it wasn't revolutionary like the first Matrix or anythign, but for a sequal, it owned! It even had a completely different type of story than Pitch Black and yet remains a cohesive part of the Riddick universe. There were plenty of bad-ass lines and cheesy action film stunts, but they added to the coolness.

I think it's cheap sequel merchandising, the plot is obivously a cross between Dune and The Scorpion King with Pitch Black characters, its just not worth it
