Title: Most Memorable

Eh, this thread was inspired by Meow's Most Memorable Moment thread and KK's Eeeevil thread. :P Since I couldn't possibly reply to either, since I have no idea what my answer to either threads would be, I came up with this. I don't really know what to make up for catagories or anything, so it's basically this:

"What game holds the most importance for you?"

Like, does why you were playing it hold special meaning? Um, does it have the most qualities you love in a game in it? It could be any reason, so let's hear it! ^^

One game that holds tons of importance in my life is Ogre Battle 64. Well, for 'one' reason, it's the ONLY game I can still play that's on the 64. I try to play other games and they get annoying because of the many reasons a gamecube game would be better. That and I'm pretty sure it could still be considered to have good graphics, even for being a 64 game. I look at the cutscenes, fight landscapes, and unit animations and they just don't look (6?) years old one bit.

It's a strategy game. There's so many things you can do in it. You can customize your groups, equip all your people's items, change their classes, watch their cool spell effects. And there's so many different units, and spell effects, and when your casters get experienced you can mix and match to make combined spells, which have their own awsome spell effects. I just can't get over that. :P

But mostly it's because of where I first played it. When I still lived at my mom's house, every summer we would take a trip to Oregon's coast for a weekend, and after my bro moved out, him and his g/f got a room at the same place also so we could hang out. So it was there that I played Ogre Battle 64 for the first time, I thought it was special 'cause it was at a special place. ^^

FF. Yeah... Final Fantasy. That's all it was called before there was a FF2. I remember that my buddy Mike and I borrowed it from Shane. Shane was too dumb to figure out how to get past the character select screen. Well, mike and I figured it out... and I still remember that our balck wizard was named "Wiz?" because we wanted to use all 4 available name spaces. Well, after making walkign around and gettign killed in our first fight we figured out how to buy stuff. Then we figured out how to equip it after several more deaths. Skip ahead four hours and we defeat Garland in his first form.... and we soooo thought we had beaten the game... i mean, it was so big already... how could there be any more to this huge world? Well, once the king rebuilt the bridge we were both astounded. And then I had to go home.. but we would get together and play all teh time and talk about it at school. Pretty much shaped the game I turned out to be.

I think my most memorable game were the Sonic games, in particular Sonic 2. Talk about the hardest game ever... It took my little brother and I almost a year to actually be able to beat it. The game was so huge and had so many levels that we kept dying on... I still hate Chemical Plant Zone with a passion. Getting to the end of the game and beating it was the most amazing victory we had back in those days... Sitting in a darkened room, middle of the night, staring at a TV screen and cheering once our favorite blue hedgehog was able to actually beat the final boss. And that final area was so damn hard... No rings, no Tails, no nothing. All you could do was pray you had enough lives and continues and a lot of luck to make it through. ^^

The most memorable video game for me? Only one answer can be given. I've mentioned this game in just about every other video game topic I've posted in. So I'll mention it again...

Earthbound. That game was the most memorable for me. I love every aspect of that game. Even after 8 or so years after I've played this game, its still the game I will call the greatest game ever made. I just liked everything about Earthbound. The spirit of the game, the storyline, the characters, the funny quotes. It wasnt necessarily the biggest game on story, but it was entertaining and made you laugh along. The game also put you in awkward situations, and against the oddest enemies. You were pittied against cranky old retro men, armed with a baseball bat and a frying pan. I also loved the music in the game, and loved the perspective of the battle. It was an rpg that was fought in first person view. Gotta love it, because every time the enemy attacked you with a spell, it flew right towards you.

The game was just great, and I still have fond memeories of it even today. Earthbound shall forever be the greatest game that I have ever played. Period. Comma, Slash /.
