Yes, I know it hasn't actually been much of talked about for a few 10+ some years. But it's on DVD, it comes in widescreen and full frame presentation. Has a behind-the-scenes featurette, has the Original Ending, And More!
BRUCE CAMPBELL
K.. for those of you young people who have no idea what Army of Darkness or EvilDead are. Then sit by and listen. Think Purposeful Colored B-movie, except with better plot and... Um... The Music is grand!
It's fun to watch!
Crap! It's fun to Rewatch!

Feel free to talk about it here. Spoilers if you want, I mean. It's oldschool and it's not like spoilers will ultimately ruin anything for the movie XD

My BOOMSTICK! To me, that's the only place that phrase came from. I only really ever saw this movie because of my brother, the first time around I thought it was really wrong. Well, it still is, but it still has really good parts also. I was finally relieved when I saw the actual ending, because the fake ending just made no sense and didn't fit right. There was SUPPOSED to be a 4th, but they wouldn't let him make it. The jerks! They left it SO openended! I mean, they even left you guessing with the fake ending! :/
EDIT: Oh yah, and Bruce Cambell is the MAN!

This is a classic movie indeed. I remember watching it as a VHS rental a few years ago. It definetely kicks ass, has some of the best moments in a movie. Alot of people dont give this movie the credit it deserves.....definetely a cult-classic undergound hit.
Since its on DVD, I may go out and buy it. If I have the money, and I remember. Bruce Cambell is a good actor. He's good at playing those kick ass type of roles, and can play any type of personality with a edge of humor. Its a great movie, no doubt about it.
Hail to the king, baby.

Definitely an awesome movie! Bruce Campbell kicks major butt! I own all three movies on VHS, but maybe I should start looking into buying the DVD versions. There's a Playstation game of the Evil Dead trilogy, but it sucks, because they tried too hard.
Has anyone else heard this rumor?:
In the sequel of Freddy Vs. Jason, there will be a third character to the mix.. Ash! Although, rumor goes, Bruce Campbell will only do it if he gets to win.. Sine he is the good guy.. sort of.. "Good, Bad, I'm the guy with the gun!"

yeah I just watched the DVD when my friend from Oregon visited for a week; damn it was funny (especially how the name of his girlfriend shifts to a different girl's name, but each gf name is the name of one of the original girls :P) and the original/alternate ending were definately a plus :) Oh... and one more thing.
Shop smart. *K-chick* Shop S-mart. :ph43r:

A few things: One, the Freddy vs Jason movie is very iffy, because Campbell stated that he would only be in the movie if he won, and that was not the orriginal plan of the director. Also, technically there are only two movies, because the second one is a remake of the first one. Believe it or not, the first movie was a collage project of Campbells, with an almost unbelieveably low budget (I dont remember exactly what it was though...). It became so popular though, that someone finally agreed to pick up the movie and reproduce it with an actual budget. Although the first and second movies are supposed to be the same, there are many differances, and I would advise anyone who hasnt seen Evil Dead I to go out and rent/buy it. Besides, where else are you going to find a tree rape scene?

Wow, you just ruined my mood with the mention of that scene. Ugh, tree rape. Actually you can see it in a lot of hentais...or so I'm told...

Yea... Never understood the point of that scene... They're trees.. they have wood... Still don't get the point.
At least it was taken out in the 2nd one. I don't really know how much of a remake it is... The very basic plot is the same, and the girlfriend (name) is the same. Other than that, it's completely different. Funnier, but different.

Sorry about bringing that image up; I found it kinda humorous actually. Common, am I the only one who finds corny 'sin'ama amusing? Anywho, yes the second one is very differant from the first, but thats because the second one had a budget. You can do a lot of things differantly in a movie when you actually have money to spend on it. Besides, no one would have wanted to pay to see the second one if it was just a carbon copy of the first one.
PHD - January 19, 2005 10:20 PM (GMT)
Very true.. considering it wasn't exactly a remake like film makers are doing now with remaking movies that are 40-50 years old. The second one was made only a few years later. It's been years since Army of Darkness, but I think it'd be cool to see another sequel. Heck, the computer game of Army of Darkness only came out like 2-3 years ago.
Too bad whoever it was who made it, did a crappy job... T_T

Ha! I get to see it on the big screen tonight! Hazzah! A theatre near me is showing it tonight for $5 a ticket. Yay!
