Title: The Clinic
Description: Hombow

Lewis Daggart - October 18, 2004 05:18 AM (GMT)
A fully staffed clinic. Now includes virtually indestrucable nurses due to the doctors training. Its about time.

Ajil6 - October 18, 2004 05:36 AM (GMT)
After what seems to be almost aeons of sleeping. Dr. Koisha steps outside of his private office, well rested, well dressed, and more than likely hungry. With his hands held behind his back he quickly takes a few steps out into the open, giving a fond wave to one or two of the staff that fall into his line of vision as they, well, do the staff-thing.

Stepping into the main room of the clinic, he surveys the area to see if there is any structural damage to the building, knowing what kind of patronage it tends to get from time to time and making a mental note that he should probably go through and get some remodeling done while he still can.

Lewis Daggart - October 18, 2004 05:44 AM (GMT)
Okesa entered the clinic and looked around. The usual staff was there, along with some new faces and a man Okesa'd never seen before. It'd been almost 2 weeks since he'd left Aki, and he'd promised to see him once he'd finished his 'trip'.

He should be doing better. Hopefully the poison's cleaned out of his system by now.

He'd been there so often he nolonger checked with the staff before entering the ward. So, per usual, he opened the door to the ward area to enter.

Ajil6 - October 18, 2004 05:50 AM (GMT)
"So what do we have here?" The good doctor asks the odd looking sort of man who walked into the sick ward unannounced to visit an apparently wounded man that in the great doctor's obviously well spent time and or absence was given great care thanks to the team of specially trained nurses.

"Stomach flu?" The doctor asks the man.

"Hay fever?" He questions.

"Scurvy?" He interrogates.

He says all this with an unassuming tone, as if the man who has invaded his ward is the doctor in question, and he was the unknowing buffoon.

Lewis Daggart - October 18, 2004 06:00 AM (GMT)
It suddenly struck Okesa that this man was possibly the doctor who had replaced Umi.

It must be a really slow day. A moment ago he was just studying the wall.

"Ah, my name is Okesa Gingitsune," he said with a bow. "I'm here to see a young friend I brought in a couple of weeks ago. He was covered in wounds and poisoned."

Ajil6 - October 18, 2004 06:12 AM (GMT)
"So it's more serious than that?" He asks, almost looking disappointed. "Oh, well. Nice to meet you anyway. I assume it was... him?" He asks, pointing of course, to the off-room where the wounded man was taking up space.

"I was surprised, it wasn't that one woman who comes in and takes my food. It's good to know other people are getting wounded, injured, maimed, slaughtered, and what not." He said, heading off toward the door, but not going inside. "You see, I belong to the school of reasoning that says it's very innappropriate for a town to take out it's frustrations on one person. 'specially the same person over and over. Good to know this is an equal oppourtunity town."

Lewis Daggart - October 18, 2004 06:27 AM (GMT)
Okesa smiled when he mentioned the woman.

The same person over and over..... He must be talking about Ame

"I think I know who you are refuring to. There was a period of time before you came, when this clinic refused to treat her. I'd guess she's making up for lost time."

Okesa noticed that they'd stopped in front of Aki's door.

"How is he doing doctor? Do you think he'll be able to leave soon?"

Ajil6 - October 18, 2004 06:34 AM (GMT)
"He's still in there? He can leave, he should be fine by now." The doctorr says, shoving his hands behind his back once more. "If he's in there, ask him to leave, I'm sure other people will be wanting in soon enough for some reason or another. And tell him to be more respectful to my nurses."

He throws the last line in, just for effect, knowing well how people have treated those poor ladies before he arrived... not that he had really been too active in the clinic since then.

Lewis Daggart - October 18, 2004 06:41 AM (GMT)
"I can't say that. It'd only encourage him. I would thank you though, for taking care of him dispite his faults."

The bard gave another bow, and entered Aki's room.

Akisu - October 18, 2004 06:59 AM (GMT)
*Aki was laying in bed and staring at the ceiling. That was until Oke walked in. His head turned to the side and glared. Then looked a little shocked that it wasn't a nurse, but got over that quickly and glared agian.*
What are you doing here? Checking to see if I died yet?

Lewis Daggart - October 18, 2004 07:02 AM (GMT)
"Well, a man can dream." Okesa said cheerfully.

"The doctor says you can leave now. Feeling up for a trip?" There was a hint of seriousness in Okesa's voice that belied his cheerful demenor.

Akisu - October 18, 2004 07:07 AM (GMT)
Finally... *Relieved to be allowed to leave the clinic. He hated staring at the ceiling all day and night.*
So where is this a trip to? *He pushed his legs off of the bed and stood up. They felt a little unsteady at first, but we're good enough to walk for a bit.* And does this trip go by the tea house so I can get my halberd back? -.-

Lewis Daggart - October 18, 2004 07:12 AM (GMT)
Okesa had forgotten all about the theif's weapon.

I hope its still there..

Sidesteping that issue, the bard replied cautiously, not wanting to give out locations with so many ears in the clinic. "There's a lady you used to know quite well.. It's past time we go and pay our respects to her memory."

Akisu - October 18, 2004 07:15 AM (GMT)
*Aki's eyes narrowed and he stared blankly at the wall for a moment. He knew who Okesa was talking about. It brought up good and bad memories and the feeling of loss when she up and disappeared, accompanied by a bit of anger. His eyes then turned back to Okesa, glaring.*
*Growling quietly under his breath.* Why are we going there?

Lewis Daggart - October 18, 2004 07:23 AM (GMT)
Okesa had expected that reaction. He'd just hoped Aki wouldn't ask him any damning questions until they were somewhere with thicker walls.

Moritsune's possibly watching us. I'd hate to reach the ruins and find it overrun with his men because I was careless.

"I'm sorry to have broached this sad subject. We can talk more of it outside. After all, you wouldn't want someone to find your weapon before you."

Akisu - October 18, 2004 07:26 AM (GMT)
Fine, let's go, I want to get out of this ****ing place anyway. They need entertainment in here, the ceiling just doesn't entertain for long...
*He walked slowly at first, making sure his legs could handle that. Once he was sure they could, he walked out of the clinic with Oke.*

Reiji Azuma - November 10, 2004 12:48 AM (GMT)
*Mio walked in and almost immediately recieved attention. Her arm was still bleeding and her arm had a great deal of blood going down it. Apparently the people here didn't like people dripping blood on the lobby floor. She was taken to a back room and someone attended to her arm. obviously she was told to take it easy with the arm for a couple of days, but with Drei running about, she wasn't feeling that much better. On the plus side, Kaname was injured and her mobility wasn't at its best. Still she managed to get around the Sake Shop quick enough, and quiet enough to lock her and Aki down inside.*

*Mio knew that Kaname was too dangerous, and with that book she would become more dangerous. She was glad Aki had that page. It should slow Kaname down enough to possibly deal with the situation, or at least find Kokyou. He had disappeared since Kaname made her presence known, and he didn't seem very thrilled either. Her guess was that he was filled with some kind of grief. He has never gone off and disappeared for as long as Mio knew Kokyou...well personality split aside that is.*

*after getting her arm taken care of, Mio informed one of the people working there to get a hold of the undertaker. The innocent woman needed to be taken care of, the 3 lackeys would be taken care of by the rest of the lackies. Ein then went back to the Sake Shop*

Scythe Master - January 15, 2005 05:28 AM (GMT)
*Zhen opens the door with her mask on and Drei enters after she does. People seem tense and anyone there with a 6th sense was feeling really uneasy at the moment.*

Drei: "Excuse my friend and I as I am in need of assistance."

*one woman approaches and asks how she can be of assistance*

D: "I need some balm and bandages for my arms. You see they are a little burnt and are quite uncomfortable. So I'd be greatful if you brought me a lot of them both. Please."

*The woman disappears and reappears shortly with a lot of bandages and some skin ointment stuff and asks if that is all*

*Drei smiles evily and says "One more thing..."*

*Zhen immediately pulls out 2 knives and begins to slaughter everyone there except the woman who helped with the supplies who was standing there paralyzed with fear. After the carnage, the 2 of them leave with the supplies and leave the woman there to be the lone witness, spared as a way of saying thanks*

Akisu - August 17, 2006 08:44 AM (GMT)
*Shiro had hobbled into the clinic several days earlier. The nurses had managed to patch him up pretty good and avoided him the rest of the time. Thinking this okama to be too weird to socialize with.*

*He currently lay in bed, the wound in his side and leg still aching. He had several stitches in each. Even though he was wounded, he was already coming up with a plan to get back at Hayate. Not for revenge, but to prove he could beat the ronin.*

Ajil6 - January 9, 2008 03:21 AM (GMT)
Dr. Koisha had finally returned from his trip elsewhere and out of country. A man with his resources could theoretically pay someone to go buy his materials, but he wasn't that sort of man.

Instead he'd left in the middle of the night one random day going on a long trip to find whatever materials that he could not so easily find in his native land, and now after returning and setting them all back into his clinic he was ready to enjoy the landscape and it's violent denizens once again.

More than likely, he'd have to re-reinforce the door and train some new nurses to withstand any intrusions of the violent unwelcome type. But till then, it was dinner time.

KrazyKelli - January 9, 2008 03:30 AM (GMT)
It was early in the morning when a shadow, hard to see off the light coming in behind her, stepped in through the entrance. This would probably not be long after Dr Koisha returns, either a few hours after or - if he came back at night, the next morning. When the light faded as the door quietly slid shut, the shadowy figure became a shapely woman, dressed in a long red kimino with white flowers (she's not wearing her usual clothes since she's not particularly at work). Her soft sandles padded further in, before she stopped and took a deep breath... As if waiting for something to happen...

...

Nothing happened.

To this Lazuli let out her breath in a relieved sigh and stated, "Well, that's a change a pace. Where is everyone today and what's with all the 'lack of pushing Lazuli around'? Is it someone's birthday or something? ... Is there cake?"

Ajil6 - January 9, 2008 03:39 AM (GMT)
The good doctor looked up from his seat in the room that he commonly used as his office, having begun the incorporation of the barest of Western medical ideals into his practice. Standing up he slid the door open so that he could look out at whoever had come in. "Be wifff youuu in a mormont~" He called out, his voice muffled by the large piece of bread hanging from his teeth. Pulling it out quickly he wandered into the main room of the clinic, keeping his arms crossed over his robes while the meat bun in his hand remained too close for comfort, threatening to stain them on short notice.

"Hello!" Dr. Koisha greeted the woman politely, "Welcome to the clinic. My name is Dr. Takeno Koisha and I've just returned from an extended trip, however as sickness knows no rest, neither do I! What ails you today?"

KrazyKelli - January 9, 2008 03:51 AM (GMT)
At the sound of his voice, Lazuli presumed people were eating cake on short notice and, indeed, it must have been someone's birthday. At least that's what she's come to decide. The difference involved, however, was the fact that a guy responded and not who she's usually come to expect. Clasping hands flat together and rubbing them in thought, she eventually stopped and folded them, putting pointer fingers together. "So who's birthday is it?"

There was a pause, then a frown. Now that he's closer she didn't smell cake, but some bread product. And now that she's able to see him (now that Take's closer still), there's no present cake in vicinity and instead a meat bun. "Oh... No cake. Nevermind. But that still doesn't explain where the ninja nurses went. Ah, my manners."

Lazuli takes a bow, "My name's Lazuli Tachimono. I've only been frequenting as of late for my eye troubles." Standing up straighter, she put her hands to her hips. "And I came here, especially, because of the constant activity from the nurses. Am I early or are they on vacation now that you're back, Mr Takeno Koisha?"

Ajil6 - January 9, 2008 03:56 AM (GMT)
"Ah, no." He begins, "I've heard they may have been a bit rougher than I originally trained them to be, however it was to my understanding that most of the nurses who worked at this particular clinic were often times killed for fun by various people who's sense of good taste and knowledge of good and evil were so absolutely basic that they thought that they were truly showing how skilled they were at being foolish." Takeno is not one to pull punches in this respect!

"And, I am unfortunate to say that it is no one's particular birthday, I just eat these meatbuns I learned about in China, when I'm not being a doctor, I make these for myself. Now, eye trouble? What's the problem with your eyes today, and how may I attempt to treat them?"

KrazyKelli - January 9, 2008 04:07 AM (GMT)
"Hmm, well. I do not see how those meatbuns could be nearly as good as cake. But the next time I'm in China, I'll be sure to pick up one." Lazuli started, before stepping closer to Takeno and closing the gap between them. She closed her eyes to recollect her thoughts. "As for my visual impairment, it's not something that has an instant cure I'm afraid." She opened her eyes and stared at him face to face. Now that she's closer, it's easier to make out a mildly white gloss over her eyes, indicative of partial blindness. "The nurses have been prescribing me eye drops to help my eyes adjust to light more easily, but the full day sun is still a bother."

Stepping back, she changed the subject, "The thought of the nurses being killed is barbaric. The samurai doing these crimes should be taught a lesson from their masters, I think. Though it's very hard to imagine anyone hurting your nurses, I'll have to admit."

Ajil6 - January 9, 2008 04:16 AM (GMT)
"Well, obviously there is no instant cure for blindness. If there was, I would have already figured it out or have found it in my travels, no."

Dr. Koisha steps away from her and begins to chow down on his meatbun, "The eyedrops can only really keep your eyes clear, ultimately. They can't help your eye site get any better or any worse. I sadly, am not acquainted with this city's glass and jewelery craftsmen. If I was I'd be able to procure you darker glass that you could use to shade over your eyes..."

Dr. Koisha shoves the rest of the bun in his mouth, thinking hard on what to say next. "And even so they are fairly expensive to produce, any sort of personal lenses. However if you return in a few days, we will see what we can do. I make no promises of vision restorement, only that the sun will be dimmer in your vision!"

KrazyKelli - January 9, 2008 04:27 AM (GMT)
She thought long about this long, staring up at the ceiling of the establishment. "That could work." She clapped her hands together before adding. "But we still must consider that I am not the emperor nor anywhere near as rich. I hope this future idea of yours will not force me into another job to whip, cream, and cherry over what work I currently have to do. Until then, I'd still like some of the eye drops. You know, in case they get dry.

I'm going to try to keep what vision I currently have in tact until the end of time." That said, she eventually turned away from him and went into thought.

Ajil6 - January 9, 2008 04:36 AM (GMT)
"Of course, no one should have to lose their vision if they still have the option to keep most of it. I will at a later date, go on and speak to the various craftsmen about pricing."

As she turns away from him, Dr. Koisha calls for a nurse who takes the order for the eye drops. "Considering that as far as I am concerned." Dr. koisha begins, "You are a new patient here, these eye drops will be free of charge. Simply return the bottle when it is empty." the nurse returns holding a bottle with a stopper on top, offering it up to Lazuli, "If you can keep it in the shade until it runs out, I'm sure it will stay cool and they will keep your eyes as clean as they have been."

KrazyKelli - January 9, 2008 04:44 AM (GMT)
She's mildly startled at the sudden presence of a nurse, especially when she didn't hear the nurse coming, but Lazuli didn't jump or anything. Instead she turned, showed a brief glimpse of surprise on her face at nearly bumping into the nurse, then - noticing the eye drops - took them with a nod of her head. The bottle of eye drops are put in her kimono. She bows to Takeno once again.

"I thank you for your time, sir. I hope you don't have as much of a reckless time here as I've heard this city usually is. You can be rest assured that I'll come again. Thank you." She takes another bow, still pleased that she's not going to have to pay today, and makes her move to leave.

All in all, this was a mildly disappointing trip. No ninja nurses coming at her from all sides, no having to block off a few attacks, no avoiding a tranquilizing dart at unexpected times. This reflecting nothing of how Lazuli acted upon previous visits. She only hoped that things would settle and return to how they were even with Koisha's unexpected return.

Ajil6 - January 9, 2008 04:46 AM (GMT)
Dr. Koisha bows to her, then rises. "I hope they come in handy, hopefully I won't be seeing you in the future for any other mishaps!" He turns and makes his way out of the room.

Reiji Azuma - March 26, 2008 10:49 PM (GMT)
Ein had carried Ame for an unusual amount of time. Somehow the time stretched and what is usually a quick walk ended up taking ages. It was one of the mysteries of Edokyo how these things happen.

When she got to the clinic, she kicked the door down in the usual Ame fashion. After the dust settled, she walked in and did the usual things that people usually have to do to get the usual RKRP main character room of dooooooooooooooooooooooom....er not-doom.

Ein sat down and waited for Ame to be not K.O.'d.
