I got my first rabbit a couple of months ago and have been able to find almost all of the information I need to take care of him on the Internet. The only thing I haven't found is a typical amount of water he should be drinking. He's a Holland Lop rabbit. He eats lots of different kinds of vegetables, as well as a small amount of pellets and an even smaller amount of hay. He drinks his water from a bottle on the side of the cage so I know how much he drinks each day, but I have no idea if he's getting enough. I've heard that some rabbits don't get enough water from a bottle, but he has a habbit of running laps in his cage and knocking stuff over, so I think a water dish would be quite a hassle.

Anyway, if you have an idea of how much water he should be drinking I'd love to hear it.

I use bowls for my rabbits. When it's really hot or cold, and I bring them inside and have to use a water bottle hung on the side, they never drink from it! Anyway, I also have two guinea pigs who together consume almost half a big water bottle daily! I think that's about 100 mL per guinea pig per day which is a lot. For rabbits, I would expect about the same consumption. How much is your bun drinking? Also, the more watery foods you feed, the less water they need. And of course, when it's really hot (and also really cold), buns drink more than normal days. I'm guessing a Holland lop with the foods you're feeding should consume between 50-150 mL daily of water.
