Description: ?

my pond lost some water this morning and i dont know how. its not really hot enough for this to happen and the water is not cloudy so i dont think there is a hole in the liner. Any ideas?

has it been windy? sometimes the wind blows the water from my waterfall/fountain out of the pond.

Read http://www.fishpondinfo.com/pcare.htm#leak

Since your pond is new, a leak in the liner is not likely (unless liners were sealed together). The water may evaporate faster than you think, may be splashing out somewhere, may be wicking out somewhere, etc.

i will use some of your suggestions Robyn. if there was a leak wouldnt the water be cloudy? my pond is clear.

i had to add water yesterday... during the summer, water evaporates pretty quickly down here...today it was 92 with a heat index of 107

im happy to say the problem has been solved! when we do the water changes for the medicine, i left the tubing in the filter for the back wash in and i set the filter back to normal. the water was going out of the tubing for the back wash! i took the tubing out and sealed it with the cap. problem solved!

I'm glad you figured out the problem.

And leaks usually don't result in any cloudiness unless they let in dirt, etc. but the pressure is going out and not in.

i think the cloudyness is that something went into the water when it rained and got the fish sick. thanks for all your help!
