Title: One Lil Fry Of Something???
Description: how do I take care of it

Ok, so I just went to the pet store and bought 4 albino cories and 3 female guppies. They are now in a quarantine tank. Just a couple minutes ago I found a little fry that looks like a guppy but I am not sure, it is about this big -- Two of my guppies are really fat so maybe one is pregnant? I don't know, but all I see right now is one fry so perhaps it got netter with the others at the pet store.

Anyways, I have no idea how to take care of it. I have a 3 gallon cycled tank that is unoccupied, should I put it in there? It( sorry I don't know if the fry is a boy or girl  ) is in a little pitcher right now. Does it need heavy aeration? Special food? Does it have to be isolated? Anything else that I need to know?????

Thanks!!

what size tank these fish going in? i would put a net breeder in the main tank. cories lay eggs so i dont think they would spawn so quickly. its probably the guppies. just crunch up flaked food and they will eat the little pieces. and yes, if its not seperated it will be fish food.

Yes, one of the guppies is dropping fry. Guppy mothers will often give birth in response to stress such as a new home. Hopefully the babies were full term. You can put them in your cycled tank or a net breeder. See my pages for information on feeding and care. Good luck!

the tank is only 2.5-3 gallons. I have 10 fry so far, some might have been eaten not sure. I can put the fry in a ten gallon in about 3 weeks. I have panty house around the filter, so they dont get sucked in. Is the 3 gallon too small?

oh sorry I didnt see your post robyn until after I posted.

The 3 gallon will be too small if you get a lot of fry, and they grow up. But, for now, it will do. You use what you have.

i wouldnt recomend realesing them till they are 1 inch.
