i am planning a salt water tank now and had an idea. I could make the 5.5 brackish to get used to the whole "salt water" thing. I would probably just get a figure 8 puffer. i have seen a tank like this and it was nice. I need to know if i absolutly need a hydrometer. how do you figure out how much salt to add? i have an aquaclear 20 so that should take care of the waste!

i dont know... i heard 10 gallon minimum for 1 figure 8 but i havent kept one before so i dont know. I would think its OK because they arent that active but they do produce alot of waste so the filter you have would control that.

thats what i was thinking. i dont see why a 10 gallon is minimum for a 3 inch fish that isnt totally active. I guess people think that a 10 gallon filter is minimum for there waste. But i have a filter for a 20 gallon!
