dogs, among many other nocturnally active animals, have (i cant remember the technical name for it) a reflective material in the back of their eyes. it is behind the retina so th elight hits the retina, then reflects off the reflective part, then goes back through the retina, allowing them two chances to collect a smuch of the light as possible. this gives tham an extra edge on prey (or predators if it is a prey animal with it that you are talking about).

my dog has the same thing it pictures. it doesnt appear when its light where you are taking the picture.
reptileguy2727 - December 7, 2005 10:54 PM (GMT)
that was the only one where you could see it out of the series of pics i took. it depends on the lighting as well as the angle of the shot, she was looking straight into the camera.

yes angel also affects it. thats why i take pics of my dog at an angle.

She's adorable! Labs, golden retrievers, and german sheperds are my favorite breeds, but I love all dogs!
