Ok i lied my all time favourite fish is the percula clown or the Occellaris clown!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have always wanted one since i got interested in fish but they are hard to look after and i dont have the money for a saltwater reef tank or saltwater fish. I looked at pictures of the fish that you like the fire fish is cool!! I would do any thing for a saltwater reef tank but i have nowhere to put it and i dont know hot to look after peucula clowns but they are my all time favourite!! (Just like nemo)
Tommy - December 2, 2005 08:24 PM (GMT)
thrers actually sort of a debate to see if if nemo is a perc or occelearis, me and most others think hes an occelaris. yah slt is kinda hard and expensive and i am starting a 10 gallon nano sometime next year. cant wait!
GynMonkey1044 - December 2, 2005 09:21 PM (GMT)
nemo is an occelaris, neither he or his father had black on them.
Tommy - December 2, 2005 10:25 PM (GMT)
yes that why i beleve he is, i dont know where people get percula from. gynmonkey do you like occelaris or percs better/ i prefer percs but they are harder to keep right?
GynMonkey1044 - December 2, 2005 10:31 PM (GMT)
hey, its gynmonkey, im on a diff comp, i would probably actually say that the true perculas are easier to keep than the wild caught occelaris but harder than the captive bred, you can purchase captive bred true perc's but they are not nearly as colorful and some never develop the black, i have a true perc in my reef tank that i have had for two years and i believe they are very hardy.
Tommy - December 2, 2005 10:46 PM (GMT)
for a beginer with a 10 gallon(me! :D ) what do you recomend? check out mynew stocking plan in my salt plan thread.
Tim - December 2, 2005 11:06 PM (GMT)
i prob like percs better aswell
Tommy - December 2, 2005 11:14 PM (GMT)
occelaris are called false percs but percs just have cooloer coloring. i love the black!

 i have to say my otocinclus is my fav,hes a small sucker catfish, hes an algae eater,i was told that if you still have him after a month your lucky as they are quite hard looking after.(wheather this is true i dont know).
hes excellent after any stirring up of the gravel as he relishes the particles like a kid in a sweet shop.

I like common plecs because they have an exotic pattern on their backs.
ParadiseBreeder - April 17, 2006 12:45 PM (GMT)
Otos are cute. We all KNOW what my fave is...paradise fish!!! I'm just so biased I guess. I love breeding them and studying their ways. They're super intelligent and very emotional.
