can you describe the tanks and stocking? i would like to see what you have. ;)

reptileguy2727 - December 7, 2005 11:03 PM (GMT)
110 with one discus, a couple fancy plecos, and a small school of each of the following: bleeding heart, rummynose, and pristella. i think thats it for that tank.

45 with true percula clown, firefish, and dwarf lion

55 with albino bichir, ornate bichir (about 3" i think), a couple rainbows, and i think a pleco.

im only answering because he probably wouldnt until later tonight and i thought i could help before that.

thanks. gynmonkey can i see a pic of the discus if you have any? i like discus and have always wanted a planted tank to put a few in, i just dont have enough experience with cichlids, only got 2 german rams. the rams are really cool. they are both young but the male had reached sexual maturity and i hope they form a pair soon.

thanks reptileguy for doing that breakdown, the 100 also has a school of neons. The two 40 breeders at the time with empty but since we re dd the room I have since set one up (which is going to be my planted tank with the dwarf gouramis i talked about in my plant question) the otehr 40 breeder I havent decided. yea ill post a pic of my discus when i get a good pic. Discus are such a pain in the ass they need very frequent water changes and do best on R/0 water. I had about 4 he is the only one left he seems to be over the fact that Im not doing a water change once a week with R/O water. The only time I ever kept them with success was when I had large wild caught discus.

dont discus eat neons? how big is the discus? they are so sool but around hear they are like $50.00 each!

GynMonkey1044 - December 9, 2005 03:41 AM (GMT)
if your discus is starving he might go after neons but not usually. He is prob 3 inches. Yea here small ones are like 40 bucks.

but thats okay if they are high quality. one of my lfs has sick ones for $10(who wants one?) and another had wild caught from $40-$100. can i see a full shot of the reef tank?
