right now i have a growing amano in my 5 gallon and would like to buy some more shrimp, i think they are cool. my lfs has bee shrimp, wood shrimp, cherry shrimp, and amano shrimp. how many should i get?
What else is in the 5 gallon (as far as room left and compatibility)?
Bee shrimp are tiny and delicate. Wood shrimp are larger and filter feeders which can be hard to keep alive. Cherry shrimp are okay with smaller amano shrimp. So, you could get a few cherry shrimp or a few Amano shrimp as buddies for the other one.
i have kept wood shrimp before but i bought older ones so they were with me for half a year. all the shrimp are going to go in my 20 gallon once they are full grown, then into a 55 upgrade. so cherries and amanos are good. im going out to the store tomorrow. the 5 gallon has 2 baby gold cobra guppies that are pals with my shrimp. they swim together at night. the filter is an aquaclear 20 that is on low for the flow.
