does water temp. play a role in the ramshorn snail reproduction?

Yes. They breed best in the 70's, less in the 80's or 60's. Below 60, they don't breed.

The ramshorn I had in my son's tank (2 gallon) went egg-happy. I was constantly pulling gelatin masses off the sides of the tank. Lol it looks like snot. Sorry...couldn't refrain. Matt's tank was about 72 degrees F. The snail ended up at work in the classroom tank & the eggs are going home w/a co-worker for her big tanks.
