I have 16 ADF's, of course, I have no idea how many are male or female, but after reading your page about your ADF's I realized some of mine mate! Stupid me, I thought when they "hug" they are socializing. But my question is, how can you tell if one is pregnant? I haven't seen any eggs, I do look for some on occasion, though. And also...what is the safest way to move eggs from one tank to another? what kind of equipment would that tank require? And, by the way, one of my frogs is a runt, I named him Little Peewie, he's so cute and little...and also the only one I can tell apart from the rest. I love my froggies.

they dont have internal fertilization. when they hug (called amplexus) the male and female simultaneously release eggs and sperm that are externally fertilized in the water as they fall to the bottom. to collect and protect the eggs you would need something that would keep the adults from eating them (fine leafed plants, marbles, some sort of grate that lets the eggs through but not the adult frogs). it is usually best done in a separate tank rather than collecting them out of the main tank. all this is from what i know of the full sized african clawed frogs, which are pretty similar to the dwarves, so i would be surprised if any of the info is different, but it is possible since i havent looked into the specifics of the dwarves.

Female frogs with eggs will look a little bit fatter than normal. Females in general will seem fatter than males. The eggs should be laid on the surface of the water and are usually eaten pretty quickly if any fish are in the tank or any number of frogs. My frog page at http://www.fishpondinfo.com/frog4.htm lists some links to sites that include breeding and tadpole care information. Since I've not done that, I leave it to those sites for what they think.
