My cat Kal is at the Dr's today getting a toe taken care of, he got into it with I'm not exactly sure what but his middle toe got infected and there is a chance he may loose it if antibiotics don't help the doc says. We go to pick him up today after work so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that nothing new develops. I'll keep you posted on results.

Got Kal back from the doc's and he's not really thrilled about stayin inside because he likes the outdoors. Huntin and such I'm sure. Anyway we got antibiotics and he got a good flushing out of the bite. We have to soak his little paw in warm water with anticeptic meds added to it 2 times a day. This outta be a thrill since the soak is suppose to be for 20 minutes. Hope he likes water more than the average puddy tat or we could be a splishin and a splashin for quite a while. We go back in 2 weeks for progress checkup. The doc said she found that he had a bite on his other leg also. She said he was bitten 4 times in total on both hind legs. We had a woodchuck last fall hangin out by the shed out back and I think he may be under it. He may be the culprit to kals bites but were not really sure. Anyone know of ways to take care of the woodchuck. I hear they can be quite nasty when cornered or if they feel threatened.

I have this cat bath restraint cage thing. I tried to find it on the internet but couldn't. I can look up the name and get back to you if you want. Once you close the cat in there, they can't get out. You can then lower the cat into whatever kind of foot bath that you want without worry about hurting him or yourself.

For the safety of your cat and the groundhog, you should consider keeping the cat inside all the time. I have 5 cats. Three are former strays that showed up. I've finally got all but one inside all the time. That last one, GK, is "Miss Inny Outey" and has to go in and out every five minutes! If she's inside when I go to bed, I now lock her in a dog cage because she otherwise will wake me up at night (and I can't catch her or put her out). She also absolutely never uses a litter pan. I'm sure you can imagine the family fun with that one!

Well soaking kals foot twice already went much easier than originally thought. I used the bottom portion of a plastic pop bootle I cut down and just mix the antseptic stuff with the water like instructions say. As long as someone pets him while the foot dangles in the solution he's fine. He gets a little fidgety after 15 minutes so you have to hold his leg closer to the end but he's done pretty good all considered. He gets a pill 2 times a day but thats a breeze for this tuff little muffin. Our other cat lucky doesn't get along to well because Kal can kinds get a little selfish and territorrial at times but he's so calm and collected it's funny at times. Lucky hisses at him and Kal looks away then back at him like, "You talkin to me?". It's pretty funny.
Sorry to hear about Ms Inns and Outs. I can relate we had a cat long ago that was the same very finnicky about her own bowls and litter box and the like. She wanted her own and boy could she be snobby if she didn't get her way. Lots of luck there. Sometimes if ya got the room declaring a room just for them will do the trick.
