| i'll let someone else answer about the weather aspect, as i live in the south. but as far as a turtle living with koi, it is possible. there are some turtles that will devour the fish, and others that will ignore them, and it doesnt necessarily differ by species, but rather by individual turtle. i have 3 red eared sliders, but they are housed with minnows and goldfish that are in the pond to make the pond more lively and they are cheap enough that the turtles can eat them and i am not out too much money. i do feed my turtles well, so they dont have to eat the fish for sustenance, but they can if they ever feel the urge. i'm not brave enough to let my turtles live with koi, especially since in your other post you said you would rather small koi or even fry, fish that small and turtles wouldnt go good together, at least in my experience. my turtles like the "1 or 2 bite sized" fish |
