I got a new job at a chain petstore (are we allowed to post names of places?). my first day was yesterday. right now we dont have any fish, the shelving in the store was rusting, so they had to sell all of the fish and redo the shelving. now they are waiting for a new part needed for their filtration system for the bacteria, so its probably 2 more weeks before fish are added.
well my day was like this. i spent about 1 1/2 hours reading the handbook. we have to take a test now to get certified. we then had to set up the monthly endcaps on the isles, they change every month. i helped some costumers with crickets. i sold a hairless rat. i fed and watered all the small animals and birds, and all the quarantined new comer animals, as well as fed and watered and medicated the quarantined sick animals.
i enjoyed it alot. i got bit by a baby cockatiel tho, we have to weigh it twice a day.
i know chain petstores get a bad rep, but this one particular location, i can assure you, takes really good care of their live animals, they even have a policy on telling costumers the truth, not just selling stuff to make money, as in telling people that fish A and fish B wont get along or fish A will eat fish B, etc.
