Last Tuesday the vet put my dog to sleep. Mandy was 17 years old, blind and mostly deaf. It was such an effort for her to get out of bed. The vet said she had outlived her body. I saw her being born. I just thought I would let you all know. I miss her so much.

I'm so sorry about Mandy. My dog Schmoo died of liver failure January 2005. I want another dog SO bad but so far, my parents aren't going for it.

I'm soooo sorry. I haven't experienced a dog death, but I have experienced having to get rid of dogs. I'm really sorry. I know what your going through.

I have been thru the deaths of 2 cats and 1 dog in the last 5 years. Both were my husbands cats, one of liver failure under age5, and the other of cancer at 15. My dog was also blind and deaf, and also handicapped( He was a hit and run when I found him in the street. With the vets estimated age he died around 20). Now that my beagle is going deaf the habit of thumping the floor is coming back into habit.
