Title: Cichlids
Description: Good cichlids

Robyn commonly says rams, kribs and angelfish are the only peaceful cichlids. Other friendly cichlids include:
Sheepshead acara
Bolivian ram
African butterfly
Discus
All of these are suitable for a community but sheepshead acara hide in the undergrowth to feel safe. The bolivian ram is different from the ram and is hardier but dull.

I haven't said much about cichlids because I have never had one. While I've mentioned that kribensis and rams are relatively peaceful in comparison to some cichilds, I've mentioned many times that angelfish may eat small fish. Discus are cichlids but tend to be kept in specialized setups (lower pH, really soft water, few other fish buddies).

I have a setup with discus, angelfish, sheepshead acara, bolivian ram, krib, african butterfly and ordinary rams. Bolivian rams will prefer harder water than ordinary rams. So next time you reccomend cichlids, reccomend bolivian rams.

I have 2 Bolovian Rams, 2 honey gouramis, 2 albino brisltenose(hoping a male & female) and a few snails. they all get along, & the rams are cool , they can just hang out in the water & not move, while they are not bright and colorful , they seem regal & graceful, w/ little wasted movement

As well as the species i stated there are other rare ones such as mini - kribs.

the only problem is a lot of fish you will find info on online, see them in books, but never see them at any stores. angels are relatively nice for a cichlid, and can do okay with larger community fish, but as said will eat fish that will fit in their mouth and can get territorial. what are your water paramters and water change schedule jayesh? i dont know if you are doing things the way it is suggested for discus, but my concern would be if you arent keeping it ideal for the discus, it could affect their longterm success. they may seem like they are doing fine, but over time unideal water conditions will result in sickness, lack of thriving, and early death.

The Ph for my discus is 5. I have many cichlids with them. However, i was told kribs need 8 ph? I change the water twice a week.
